I take it your in Bodle street green at the moment not Norfolk. Your within the envelope of the most recent updates, if the PPN does indeed make landfall, your location being inland at 60m asl is going to be an advantage maybe compared to us on the coast should things turn a bit marginal down here. Fingers crossed.

Thanks Snowray, fingers crossed for us all!

Temp has now risen from -3.2°C to 1.3°C! Wonder if that's cloud cover? My mum always says temp rises when it's going to snow!

Out of interest, does anyone else seem to find that the Met constantly underpredicts the min low temp overnight?  Last night -3 was predicted for my area (South Croydon) whilst the weather station in the garden said -5.4.  Tonight it has +1 all evening but the weather station is reading -2.7.  I don't notice this with daytime temps.  Noticed it over the last couple of years too.

Yes exactly the same for me as well.Forecast -2 last night yet was -4.8 in the end.The forecast high was 3 yet we only hit 2.Has been a trend this winter I have found.

Has anyone noticed that the PPN on the radar looks is a lot further north?

It is almost hitting Cornwall, don't worry if it's rain, over there, we'll have east winds by the time it gets here.

Yes it's the cloud moving in pretty fast now.

By the way, this evenings 18z runs are showing mainly near misses again, although radar is further north and Met Office for now remain on board for this snow in the far SE from late morning tomorrow roughly.

Nowcasting from now on.

So now the French steal our snow in Winter, and thunderstorms in the summer.

Its OK frenchies, we get it. The middle finger couldn't be any larger.

What with the Americans and Canadians getting an Arctic blast, firing up the jet stream and breaking down our cold set up too, it's a wonder that the UK weather community isn't xenophobic.

My parents always said the same thing. Cloud cover at night lifts the temperature so guess that's why???

It looks further north by about 50 miles over the western channel. However I’m not sure if that’s a real nudge north or just because the system is a little quicker than progged so it gives the perception of being further north when compared with T +0 forecast.

Temperature has now risen to 4.5C and is still rising. Quite a contrast to this time yesterday evening.

Yes, maybe it's just moving in quicker.

I'm already looking forward to the summer.

Sitting on the beach at 11pm, staring into the channel, looking for even the faintest flash of lightning, which stems from a raging MCS in northern France.

What even is snow?

Were you outside Monday last week lol? We got pasted for a couple of hours.

18z Arpege ensemble gives a much improved snow chance on the 06z.

Imagine if this perturbation came off 🤣

I often stand on the sea wall, at Jury's gap, camber sands, and watch all that delightful energy raging over northern France. We just seem to be on the periphery of anything decent, unless it's rain. 1 day it will happen

No thanks that explains why mine turns to rain on some models.

Nope no point, nothing reaches anywhere near here till tomorrow,  if it makes it here, waiting up for us is silly.
