Basically radar watching Tuesday for that low , won’t know it’s exact track until the actual day

Some ensembles are bring a much better northerly even at this short range due to a disturbance just of Norway, probably end up nothing but something to watch

Dont the beeb use old data,

How hard is it for us to get a North East wind, what a waste to all them snow showers out at sea.

Im not expecting much from this northerly really. I'm in the camp of hoping that there will be some small features pop up with a few hours notice to dump an inch or two as that will do me. However if I'm being totally realistic I'm not expecting it to happen. Hey at least its not zonal.

Every run of the ECM and GFS is turning the wind slightly less north westerly and more northerly around Monday at the minute not enough to bring showers onto land but something to watch on the 12zs to see if the trend continues

Taking into consideration some posters comments in the Model discussion (Catacol, Tamara, Singularity) I am taking the current forecast/Models with a large bag of salt. The fact they are flip flopping every run I think anything showing over 48h is probably going to change again and again.

There's no mention of it in the mad thread but not surprising as it's not happening in the south!!

Knowing our luck with this feature it’ll be rain with it coming from the west will have a warm sector.

I think it'll come down to radar watching. Mainly dry week apart from possibly early Tuesday but we will see. Hopefully something will pop up at very short notice

Latest Met office longer range is suggesting possibly a more NE flow as time goes on during the potentially long, upcoming cold spell.

In my experience this is the best direction for snow, 'lake effect' heavy snow showers coming in off the North Sea, beats frontal 'events' hands down.

Snow tyres fitted to car and it's all eyes on Monday onwards.

Fast forward 4 days and it looks disappointing to what was on the cards. Fingers crossed it can equal the end November/beginning December cold spell at least.

UKV is good for our region early hours Wednesday, wouldn’t rule out a few showers clipping coastal regions on Monday

Mild sector coming into play as I feared but still time for this to change

The beebs latest forecast for Tuesday now shows the front fizzling out as it moves south for this side of the pennies.

Not good development for Tuesday then. Still time for a change between now and then hopefully.

All the hype for tripe, still there is 2 months left of winter 😂👍🏻⛄

Unless we get we get a lovely beast from the east again ( which is very rare ), I can't see us getting much again this winter ( at least in Teesside that is ) I know we can see snow in march but once January and first half of February have passed its very unlikely we will see severe snowy weather, I hope I'm wrong but that's just the climate we are in now.

I agree Dave.

For me winter ends at the end of Feb, when we are in March, lighter nights to around 6.30ish I want spring sunshine and warmer temps.

But they do say snow at Easter is more common than Christmas.

Absolutely, I've definitely seen more snow showers around Easter than I have Christmas!!

I'm just sick of seen dark dingy rainy days now, it's seems to have been like this for months now, if we can't have snow some nice cold frosty mornings will do.

They reckon that the end of January will be a blocked pattern so time will tell but its only ever 10 days or more away 🤣

Yep I agree, I have dogs and fields are abysmal, some hard frosts would in the least be nice.

Yes the gold old 240 runs, 6 inches of snow and blizzards, by the time we get to the 72 runs it is rain or nothing.

The met office are sticking to the potential blocking though and easterly/ north easterly, whilst they still have it in their forecast there is still hope.
