Looks like a brief window on Wednesday when the wind turns more favourable for us

Would be nice to think we could muster 2 snow events

Yes would be nice

If only the wind was north easterly, the North Sea is on fire

I can honestly say with the wind, I've never been this cold in years today whilst being out. It's so refreshing 😌

Yes, it's Baltic out there

Lovely morning for weather, freezing cold blue sky just a shame and frustration when you look out to sea and see all the snow showers lol.

If we had a North East wind this could have matched 2010 for me, a full week of constant showers would have been amazing.

Can't see us getting much in the way from the fronts on Tuesday / Wednesday, There does seem a more active front on the models passing through on Thursday tea time this could be interesting .

Latest gfs showing heavy snow for North Northumberland at 1500hrs tomorrow. Shame the front is not arriving overnight as looks very marginal for most of us.

Lovely crisp day today with everything frozen solid.

Well if the GFS is right Sunday could be very stormy indeed with "Very Heavy Snow".

Don't worry.... it'll be very stormy rain 😂

This is the headline on sky news

'Severe' snow alert for drivers; days of warnings as Arctic freeze blasts UK

Are they seen something different 🤔

For Scotland maybe.

We are expected to get a slushy icy mess if we go off the met.

It's gonna be nowcast tomorrow as to whether a) any meaning precipitation reaches us

b) whether it's cold enough to be snow

C) whether the uppers are cold enough for it to stick

All very knife-edge I should imagine

A day of radar watching I think. Plenty precipitation around. Hopefully some of it will make it over the Pennines around dinner time

The front is miles further south than forecast. Hopefully keeps together

Yes appears the front further south. N Ireland to SW Scotland rather than central scotland.

We have a cm cover so far.

Was on the beach in Seaburn with the dogs this morning and I thought it was pretty mild (compared to yesterday).  It was actually colder here last night at 7pm than it was this morning.

Not expecting anything here plus I'm working in Ashington today so doesn't look hopeful if you take the radar at face value. Maybe tonight though.

Similar, just got back with dogs, nowhere near as cold this morning, probably due to losing the northerly wind.

Can't see anything other than a sleet to rain event,  very rare we get anything white with systems from the west.

But hoping I am proved wrong.

Currently showing a batch moving more to the South of our region. There is a more solid looking clump to the West over S Scotland headed our way, but slowly. Could be here, if at all, by about 4 or 5 ish?

The system and precipitation is beginning to work west to east rather than NW to SE. It's just wether it can make it across the Pennines.

There is a good dumping of snow in that system for somebody.

Probably the pennines will gobble it all up and then spit it back out as sleet for us !!

What time would we expect to see the system arriving if it did make it over.
