Same here a small dusting now, stuck to most surfaces because of the frost ❄️

When it’s not forecast like this it’s always the best ❄️👍🏻

Agreed 100%, who knows may get more Tuesday/Wednesday.

Screen shot from a Bloxwich webcam shows the dusting nicely.

Woken up to a dusting in Telford, better than nothing! It'll be cold enough that it'll probably stick around for a few days in shady spots, so at least it will look wintery.

Nice to hear about the snow - rather unexpected! Hopefully some more over the coming days!

My Midlands friends - you're sure to get snow now - because I'm working away in Leeds this week...! 😉 Anyway, good luck all...it's very cold here in Leeds, lovely and clear and sunny too for now. If I can get some snow up here I'll let you guys know!

-2 start. Bright sun though with lots of frost. No snow or any sign of so expecting a dry but cold week.

Amazing how such cold air moving over anomalously warm sea and with low heights is producing so few showers.

Air is too dry in the mid layers this afternoon, humidity of around 15% from the modelled sounding at around 3000m in Cheshire. 60% on the surface i'm recording. Very blue skies as a result here. Scotland seems to have more moist profiles so that's helping showers form, plus longer track over open water.

Just had a lovely crisp walk with the dogs in Himley Plantation out near Wombourne. A very light dusting of snow in the woods and brilliant sunshine. Makes you realise that even though we've been let down by the change in modelling and forecasts this week, this kind of weather can still be very pleasant.

Just spare a thought for those of the North Sea coasts today. I grew up in Lowestoft and studied in Sunderland for 3 years. I know the fustration of watching the snow clouds out at sea drifting in the northerly wind but not getting any closer. So even though this week looks like it has turned out to be a disappointment for us in the Midlands, at least the weather isn't physically teasing us when you look outside!

Glad to see that some in the north west of our patch got a cm.

Solihull (here) woke up to a fine layer of grapel, which  had drifted  down the rooves into gutters, but was still 'laying' on the sheltered rubbish bins, etc.

As people above have reported this Arctic air  is brilliant to look at. A few flakes in it would be perfection.

Temperature barely above freezing at a time of year when the sunlight is very weak and yet frost and dusting of snow has all gone.

Afternoon guys.
Any chance of some more Cheshire gap streamers overnight?
Nice surprise last night to see some snow falling.
