Message added by Paul,

This thread is for model related chat and discussion only.
Please head over to the Winter chat thread if your post isn't about the models. If you'd like localised weather chat, make sure you've joined your regional group. Or if you just want to moan about the weather or models, or would like to ramp up whatever may be on the way - there is now a dedicated ramp and moans thread.

Please use the insightful reaction on posts you think should be copied to the model highlights thread.

As ever, please keep to the community guidelines, the guiding principles of which are:
Be kind -- Stay on topic -- Share your knowledge -- Be polite -- Be honest -- Be tolerant -- Be family-friendly

On a day of 'downgrades' and 'wobbles', are we about to finish proceedings with a 'stonker'? Based on the 216, I think so....

Polar low (warm core system within cold airmass) heading into Scotland would be one heck of a snowmaker. Very robust and strong heights over Greenland, no signs of any Iberian heights either!

It’s like the GFS is playing with us.

222hrs and polar low incoming to Scotland.

Surely the freeze is coming on this run?!!!!!

Well it could be some blizzard coming up in a minute, don't like it when cold air is only crawling down from North at a snails pace usually, but this run the channel low is clearing East, watch that polar low coming down from the North.

The 18z is the best run of the week!! Major upgrade here folks, both in next week's Easterly and more so next weekend!

Yes compared to the 12z run this run is so much better , it really does seem the better the initial Easterly the better later on . Even a bit of battle ground snow showing in far south if england on this run .
