Loughborough is currently flooding in the Belton Road area.

The protection sluice at Pillings Lock is overtopping , the wier cant take any more, so the water is pouring over the canal flood lock and into the centre of town.

The storm has left some stunning sky scapes in its wake.

Thunderous channel brewing ground😉

Was there a sting jet from this storm Henk after dark? the winds died down but overnight the neighbours fence came down yet it wasn't even moving during the worst of the storm that reared it's head in the afternoon.

So much uncertainty over that small area of low pressure tomorrow, which could be problematic for areas already flooded. Some models keep it further south (GFS/ECM), while other bring it further north (AROME/APERGE).

Could end up being a mini storm if it winds up more.

Noted that, again it has gone from somthing of a shallow wave in earlier fax output to more recently a clear centre and mild deepening...

Quite worrying that there’s still model disagreement on its track. AROME/APERGE take it as far north as the East Midlands and into Lincolnshire.

Well given the sodden ground and hundreds of flood warnings already in existence 2” of rain could be quite impactful…

Whoa, I just noticed the damage of the Twister. I just noticed the roof in two of the houses has been ripped off, completely in one of them.

I’m very worried about this. The potential for 12hr+ of heavy rainfall in the Midlands and especially where i live (Northants) as many low lying areas are already flooded. Some villages are even putting sandbags up as the flood levels rise and also the ground cannot hold anymore water making the accumulation just run off for floods.

According to the current MO warning area it’s more of a southern England risk so Northants might hopefully miss out !?

Infact it is pretty much most of the central part of Britain and it’s even worse to my west. I’m really hoping the models don’t shift west because that would be very bad for the low lying villages. Here is a photo of the Meadows near me from earlier, it’s practically a sea.

It’s a similar scene across southern England
