Glorious afternoon and early evening here. Even sat outside and picked my son up wearing a t-shirt. Unbelievable scenes

Azazel It's been much better today! Hazy but slight haze rather than the past 2 days. As a response we have topped out at 24.2c. All doors and windows still open! MUCH better!! Happy Becka😊 Even sat in it for breakfast this morning! Sat out cuddling chooks twice too. Almost feel like I'm on holiday!

Azazel  One of the first evenings this year or probably the first, where you can be outside l comfortably in just a t-shirt or thin layer.

It's got that residual warmth that I usually associate with July/ August.

Very decent indeed

Windows wide open upstairs, gentle breeze flowing through, perfect temp in the bedroom for sleeping, love this time of year.

Aye great summer day, could be a bit warmer in morning though, but this all summer would be cool!

but are these temps with this setup possible in Jul/Aug, 22 or so seems much too low

Alderc 2.0 You have lost me totally, what cold?...i agree the rain has been a issue, but cold, not a chance. We never had a winter, nothing at all. You seem to not understand another view entirely. Same every year.

Only thing I don't like is that this weather is bringing out all the wasps. Apart from that, I am very much enjoying it.

markyo surely opening the window would work and save you a few quid

I not having a go honestly. The Mrs will get the same reaction in august when she attempts to put the heating back on

I wonder, if we were to fund a new project of drilling & funnelling tonnes of hemp into the depths of the UK, would we stay under a high all year round with amazing weather for both warmies & coldies? I guess the weather probably won't work like that but imagine high pressure all year round 😮🌞❄️

Went for a nice walk this evening and still warm enough for shorts and t-shirt.  As I said earlier, if it were to be like this all summer, I would be happy.  Warm sunny days and evenings and then comfortable nights for sleeping.  Win win!!

I’ve picked the worst time to have the most rancid cold ever though - but at least my mood is lifted tenfold

SunSean This sounds awesome but im willing to allow for 3-4 days of slack convective lows a month for thundery/showery interest and one frontal rainfall event per month to keep the plants and wildlife hydrated. The rain front must be overnight however and gone by morning no lingering around! :P.

Catbrainz I’m with you, definitely some decent thundery activity but absolutely no drizzle, strong winds, or unnecessary cloud at all. I can dream 💭

Azazel Hope it clears up soon. I’ve had a vile cold for the last 10 days and it’s really getting on my t**s now but the weather is helping

An elite mid May day with virtually unbroken sunshine here. Someone a while ago once described similar as "vintage weather," that is certainly a well suited phrase for a day like today. Dewpoint often in the 8-10°C range so a very pleasant dry feel to the air.

Cloud did unfortunately stop me from seeing the sun reach the horizon which would have been best to see that hazy sunset. 23.5°C max at the official station in the city.

24.6c in London on Thursday, so we did did break the 24c barrier. Comfortably the warmest day of the year so far.
