Turning out to be an absolute cracker of a week here in London.

Solid temps and warmth for early May. Plenty of time for 25c+ as the month progresses and we head out of Spring. Main thing for me right now is sunshine hours, light levels and dryness - all of which this week is delivering in spades.

The Met Office have certainly underestimated temperatures here. They were going for 17°C, then upped it to 18°C.

 Mapantz i guess you get a lot of shelter from a breeze from the Purbecks?  

Again big differences here, some aws near the coast only 12-14C further inland towards Ferndown (only 4-5miles away) they are 20-23C.

There seems to be a fairly even distribution of temperatures across the midlands and the south, except the coasts. It's not very often we see such a limited range of temperatures across a wide area in fine weather like this. Pretty much anywhere inland could contend for warmest spot today. Many spots are now over 20c.

The wind direction is ENE - ESE here, that always pushes the temps up. Wind speed is 3mph.

As soon as it switches to S or SW, temps fall rapidly, despite the Purbeck hills sheltering.

 danm Hmm, maybe. I think a 23c is more likely considering we're now at 2pm and its 22c.

 danm 22c at Brize Norton too, I think 24c will be recorded in London and outside of London somewhere. Conditions are perfect for it at the moment.

 In Absence of True Seasons Why are you guys having blue sky but I'm just having haze? It starts off blue then goes to haze by lunchtime
