A heads-up for commuters, Network Rail will have to run route-proving trains first thing to make sure the tracks are free from debris so there's likely to be some early trains that don't run even in less-effected areas like the East. If lines are clear then expect a 6:30 to 7am start or have a lie-in and avoid the disruption.

Too much of southerly component for us hence only 53mph max gust.

Let's hope it stays that way from my point of view just down the road in Mansfield. Gusting 50mph plus here for last 2 hours, around 5mph higher than forecast for this time of the storm. Wonder why Mansfield seems to be one of 'worst' areas away from coasts and hills etc

Latest wind gusts and MSLP.

Nice day for a hike up Aonach Mor - only a 107mph wind gust!

As a general trend, looks like so far we have 40-50mph as the widespread inland gusts. I think some are being a bit too quick to write this off, the amber warning is only an hour old!

A little less gusty here in the NE after the rain cleared. It'll be interesting to see if those squally bands of rain hold together out west as this is what will likely give the strongest gusts here.

Not too bad here tbh.

Just been outside to the garage and the wind is howling through the trees. The gusts seem quite vicious as well. There's also a couple of house alarms in the distance adding to the drama.

Rain is also an issue combined with snow melt in the Yorkshire dales tonight!

Should I be okay tonight. Winds don’t bother me used to them up here now. But flooding from the Atlantic worries me with it in my doorstep.

Drumalbin is my 'local' station even though its about 20 miles away and significantly higher. The peak gusts in Lanarkshire are still in the 50-55mph range.

The roads around Ripon have started to flood but luckily the rain has cleared.

I don't live there so wouldn't have a clue. Do whatever the flood warning thing tells you to do?

Thank you here are a few images marked with my location here in the outer hebrides. I’m on the northwest coast of the Isle of Lewis, the Atlantic is on my doorstep. Also it’s lightning on and off at the moment. But the storm will arrive later tonight and coincide with high tides here it says and I checked one app for that time it says waves up to 5.8 meters.

I wish I could help, but I'm clueless. I'll be thinking of you through the night.
