Direct from our neighbour: I feel like people always make a big thing about these weather warnings and they usually don’t come to much

Alright thank you. It’s getting really loud now here. Are roofs supposed to make a clicking sound

Some enthusiastic gusts.

Not sure what they are, would guess in the 50mph to 60mph range now.

Thinking the direction of the gusts a little more impactful as it sounds pretty horrendous but speeds not unusual.

Something different.. almost like downblasting

Starting to ramp up a gear here. Rain and wind slamming onto my south-facing bedroom window.

The best possible weather to fall asleep listening to

That's your tiles being lifted by the wind and dropping back down, I've had that happen some years ago and in my case no harm done. Hopefully it won't get any worse than that.

The weird thing about this storm is how the max gusts barely have pauses between them.

North Cornwall exposed to the Westerly wind. Maybe more sheltered here from South Westelies and Westelies.

Yeah, we normally get these winds but wooden siding is breaking loose and I watched a trampoline go flying ( not ours )

Gusts ramping back up again here but not alarming at this stage just noisy.

Looking at the radar some interesting features popping up.

With talk of 'Tornado Watch' about, what sort of things can we look out for on radar (or otherwise) which might suggest tornado formation?

So true.

A heady combination here  of wild gusts, the wife snoring, and cat meowing as I lie in bed eating chocolate.

Only issue is my roofs tiles come loose in summer out of the blue. They should last hopefully

Wrapping around ( hooking ) breaking in squal lines too but they don’t always mean tornadoes and eye whitenesses. Probs some others I haven’t said

We just had a wind gust in Exeter, heard something move/rattle on the roof and the double glazing window creaked.

Something feels very different about this storm compared to others. It has a different feel to it. The way that the gusts almost have no gap and the way things are getting blown around is slightly unusual for this neck of the woods. The only things this reminds me of is Eunice and that thunderstorm that we had in June 2019/2018 I can’t remember what year but I think the date was 18/19th and it was a Wednesday?

Things starting to pick up across South Tyneside now after a lull.  Constant gusts although nothing too serious just yet....

Heavy rain and possible squall lines to come in the next hour as well for our areas.

Looks like both the average and gust wind speeds at our local MO station (Andrewsfield) are exceeding the MO predictions and are nearer the numbers forecast on XCWeather who I believe use GFS? Currently showing 38 mph average and 58 mph gusts.   MO going for 30 and 53.

Getting quite blowy... gusting into the 60s frequently, trees flapping about a fair bit and a constant roaring sound accompied by the odd crash as bins go flying.
