The wind is super load now, I can feel it shaking the house. Neighbours Chairs have been flung across their garden and power lines swinging violently. Also trees are bending a concerning amount.

Same really kicked of in the last few minutes.

The squall line currently across Bristol and Birmingham will be a windy one when it reaches us in a few hours

Woo hoo we just had a stonking Squall pass through here with heavy rain bashing the window along with racing winds. Now gone back to windy night with sounds of gusts.RainRateHistory.thumb.gif.6b80cd9e681fb0abee52715b9b6fd991.gif

It's slightly concerning that there's been no reports yet from anywhere around the Western Isles or areas in the Highlands, I expect power-outages are to blame, but they've still got another 3hrs of Isha's wrath to endure before things finally settle down for them.

Getting quite lively here now in Aberdeenshire, not outrageously so as yet but lights flickering and chimney whistling away merrily.

Based on obs from Shetlands, low centre is about 947 mbs just n.w. of Shetlands at 0400h. (based on moderate wind speeds s.w. at Lerwick).

Calmed down quite a bit now here, maybe still a bit blustery but certainly no "roaring" anymore. Wow, what a storm! Dread to think what the damage is, know of quite a few trees down because of social media. Crazy to think there's another one coming in,in a day here!

It would seem that down here in West Kent to have been a fairly ordinary windy night. Nothing of note at all for here. I feel for Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland. They’ve taken a battering.

It looks a possibility, UKV also showing a intense core in Moray Firth 03Z which doesn't look entirely due to being back over the sea

UKV seemed to have the NE Scot core picked out

Well as expected - and got shot down for suggesting yesterday an Amber warning wasn’t needed for a vast swathe across the south. Even the exposed locations like Portland, Thorney Island and St Catherine’s point only just scraped 55-60mph max gusts and there were very few inland gusts over 70mph.

Ironically the storm we had on the 2nd or 3rd of January was much stronger in the south. Wind gusts were 10-15mph higher.

A very unremarkable event in the SE both on coasts and inland.

Gusts no higher than 55mph to 60mph.

Amber  warning unnecessary , but given model projections understandable.

Data more widely over Northern Ireland the far North of England and Scitland shows  70mph to 80mph gusts recorded  in places .

Exposed headlands and mountain tops coming in with a couple of higher gusts.

Chaos for the railway network this morning in Scotland which impacts routes south into England along east and west coast. No trains at all in Scotland until after the rush hour whilst the lines are checked in daylight, when it comes.  Many incidents reported , trees, overhead wires, fallen wall, rogue shed

Nothing interesting here, barely any rain, gusts in the mid 40s.

We really do live in the dead zone for weather here :-(
