Turning more to snow here but not expecting much if any of it settling due to my bad altitude 😆

Sleety mess in Leeds city centre today but I can see heavy snow starting to settle in Middleton on my cctv, so I guess the snow line is now below the 150m mark.

Getting heavier now and settling on more surfaces, thinking about settling on the pavements in places.  Temp dropping, now 0.7c

Tim A Now finally will people realise snow settles on wet surfaces, how many times do you hear grounds too wet to settle, given the right conditions it doesn't care. Sleet n wet snow falling here at sea level, will not settle at this level though.

DevinW Can confirm its turning more to snow in Roundhay which is a similar elevation - and starting to stick on grass, bins and cars. Temperature 1.4c and dew point of 0c. If the temperature can drop a little more, and we maintain some intensity (which is what the models suggest for the afternoon) then I may have a slushy covering my the end of the afternoon (yay..!).

Needs to get heavier here if anything decent is going to settle, it's steady snow but it's tiny flakes that aren't doing much

Got to be realistic, snowy days and heavy snowfall is virtually a thing of the past in places like hull and east yorkshire.

Temperature has now dropped to 0.7c and a dew point of -1c. Sticking everywhere bar pavements. Though no real intensity- hopefully that comes by lunchtime. On your wager yesterday, dare I tempt fate 😄 @Scott Ingham

Just turned to sleet / wet snow here. Temp down to 1.9C so looks good for further inland.

Robin2012 hi robin, I would say go to wunderground and zoom in on your street and then see where the closest weather station is showing. That will be live observations

MIKE LEVITT These setups have always been rubbish for us. Its the death of the proper northerly that has been the killer for our area. All too often they are north-westerlies these days that last barely 24-24 hours. A good NNE pushing the showers inland a bit is what we'd need. They're extinct though!
