Have to say after a few days of relatively promising model output a definite turn for the worst. Looks like high pressure won’t fully establish itself over the uk and we’ll end in a cool, damp northerly.

SunSean Very regional I think. I'm not far from you but only had about 2 hours of part sun yesterday early-mid evening. Definitely not 5.

Today...very hazy as expected but I think this should (hopefully) burn off a bit later on. It's forecasted 20c so be a real shame if the sun is once again stuck under the eternal cloud.

Alderc 2.0 From my (very) amateur perspective, the GFS 00z has the UK much closer to the high, ECM with less of the high and more of the northerly component, a much less desirable outcome

Well, looks like instead of burning off, the haze is actually thickening as the day goes on, and what would've / should've / could've been a day where the 20c temp will actually feel like 20c and the warmth of the sun can be on you, will once again be marred by claggy nonsense.

It's apparently 16c atm but feels about 11c honestly with the cold breeze and complete cloud cover.

Just booked 5 days in Seville from Monday. Had enough of the Faroe Islands life! All my money will be eradicated if this guff continues throughout the year 😂 Worth it to experience the rare phenomena of sunshine though! Not exactly getting it here lol.

Yes… on a day where the sky should be blue we are once again plagued with this ever pervading white layer that has ruined so many brighter days.

SunSean Good choice. I’ll be going in early May! 👌🏻

Well, the good start to the day didn’t last too long.  As always feared, we now have a thick layer of high level cloud pretty widespread, diminishing and sunshine to very very hazy levels.  🙄

Bloody marvellous out there. Pushing 20c, light winds, continuous hazy sunshine. T-shirt weather.

Not a bad day here, hazy sunshine, quite a bit of high cloud. Better than previous months, and mild too.

Happily take next week too, should be plenty of sunshine in-between the showers.

Lovely day here sunny and warm. Feels like a drug trip for real after the past 6 months of cloud rain and wind!

Still doesn't look bad to me next week. Maybe a bit breezy and showery on Mon/Tues (not unlike the weekend of March 23/24), but after that we're at worst on the eastern edge of the high.

After thtat I guess it'll either be sunny; dry with some "infill" Sc developing during the day; or bright with scattered, possibly wintry showers, depending on how close the high is.

Compared to what we've had, none of these outcomes are too bad.

Now then. How perfect is it today. 21c now. Milky summer sky. Gentle breeze. Just perfect. Same again tomorrow too.

It’s lovely in Exeter, a little bit of high cloud but compared to what we had I’ll take it, feeling warm too, nice to feel the sun

Good day today, East Malling is actually keeping up with London with 20.4°C at 15:00.

Cooler temps are coming after a nice weekend but precip-wise, we're heading in the right direction and the high April Sun will be working on the groundwater even with more average air temps than we've been having.

This is one of those days where you wish we had a station in East London, as with High Beach at 20.6°C, Writtle at 21.1°C and St James's Park at 21.4°C, East London could be seeing more like 21.5-22.0°C right now. Makes you wonder how many daily maxes and records we've missed by not having a station in the area. As I've speculated before, with the extreme fires that broke out in the area, East London may have seen temperatures in excess of the 40.3°C recorded at Coningsby in the July 2022 heatwave.

CryoraptorA303 we have London City Airport, but being on right on the river it may be slightly cooler than places further into the city within east London.

Topped 20c. We've had full sun for a time. Sunny periods and clouds now.

A decent day though and yet another different day compared to some this April.

Today continues the 'typical April weather' theme seen this month i.e. varied.

danm I think London City airport has cooler maxes and warmer mins, compared to elsewhere in London.

CryoraptorA303 I wonder why. It is an official station, just not run by the Met Office.
