  1. Couple of posts moved into Ramps, could we keep to Model output discussion.......?
  2. Some posts have been move into banter/Ramps/moans.. If your post isn't here, it's been popped in there....
  3. Let's keep it friendly please chaps (tis the season and all that) , and if you're in the mood for a ramp, there's a thread just for that on the link below - absolutely not wishing to pour cold water on anyone's excitement, but please consider if what you're proclaiming to the 600+ people viewing the thread is actually what the models are showing (or your interpretations of) or what you'd like to see....... https://forum.netweather.tv/topic/81281-model-banter-moans-and-ramps-autumnwinter-2014 If your post has disappeared, it's more than likely been moved into said thread..
  4. Ah, I've got chase envy! Wish I was going again this year, you guys are going to love it!!
  5. With 500+ people reading this thread I think it would be nice in the interest of keeping things coherent and civil, we could perhaps best the following in mind: - if you feel the ecm/GFS/jem/ whatever is 'rubbish' or you have a good, cognitive; scientific reason that you're writing off the entire winter, it would be wonderful if you could perhaps back your observations up with some fact/illustration - if you feel the urge to post something inflammatory then perhaps consider if saying the same thing to a complete stranger in real life would result in a bar fight.. Just because we aren't all in the same room, doesn't mean it's okay to act like a jerk. It's not about 'pulling people up' or 'telling off' - we are just trying to keep the conversation relevant, friendly,, informative and accurate.
  6. Lots of us online today looking at the prospects for next week, which look exciting to say the least..... Please remember we have a few threads running, so please consider if your post would work in here or if it would better placed/answered elsewhere... Regionals: https://forum.netweather.tv/forum/142-regional-discussions/ (Will it snow IMBY, gritting, Snowpocalypse) Wild Ramping https://forum.netweather.tv/topic/81281-model-banter-moans-and-ramps-autumnwinter-2014/ (Cobra meetings, bread shortages, ice age cometh) How to read the models https://forum.netweather.tv/forum/5-the-netweather-guides/ (What does DAM mean, is the ECM rubbish, what does FI mean..) We might be moving a few posts around if they aren't suitable for the original thread, so don't panic if your essay has disappeared, we've probably moved it to somewhere more audience-appropriate. Thanks and happy cold hunting!
  7. Afternoon folks, just a gentle nudge back into the model discussion please... There's a separate thread for met office & lrf musings.. Thanking you!
  8. I've moved a couple of posts into banter as they're more appropriate for that area..so if you can't see it here, it's gone in there...
  9. Hi Marty, I'm sure someone will jump in to explain the above statements - but what I would say is the charts/data are exactly that - open to interpretation. It's not an exact science, so one person may view the data differently to another. It isn't quite as clear cut as right or wrong....
  10. Just wanted to chuck this in here from Fergie as a point of interest.. - it's in the Banter thread for those that want to view the original... PS: MOGREPS & 00z EC ENS stamps now agree on signs of westerly waning into trend period. Circa 40% now show some form of continental block.
  11. If you've got Apple products, I recommend the Netatmo.... I think they're great! Dead easy to use as well.
  12. Moved a couple of posts into Moans/Ramps..if it ain't here, it's gone in there.
  13. 'Watered down version of last year' is a bit of a rash assessment...
  14. A couple of posts have been moved into banter/ramps.. Please could we try and keep the kind of 'if it's not snowing in my garden then the whole of the UK might as well be in a heatwave' type comments in there? Ta!
  15. Could I ask that we try and keep to model discussion, as oppose to the somewhat confrontational one liners/woe is me, it's never going to snow - type comments... there's a special thread for that.. so if your post has disappeared from here, it's probably been relocated to there.
  16. I've been a bit fly by wire and booked like a week or two before going and got quite good deals (they seemed to like a solo traveller) - I went through the BA website. Make sure you register for an exec blue membership (it's free) you get a few sort of perks with it.
  17. Nope soldiering on till 5.30 unfortunately, although a colleague has just given me a free starbucks voucher which has improved things immeasurably.!
  18. Got absolutely drenched this morning, rain woke me up about 5ish and then stopped, and I (Wrongly) assumed the worst had passed. Took hoodless coat and left brolly in office last night, and it was torrential as I came out of the tube; I've spent most of this morning drying off in front of a fan heater... Happy Friday!
  19. https://forum.netweather.tv/topic/81567-stratosphere-temperature-watch-20142015/ PS: One liners are being moved to the Moans/Ramps.... Thanks! Jo
