  1. Lol beggars can't be....ahem anyway moving on. I'm pretty upbeat about it all as per my post, still be watching the 12z from behind the sofa though.
  2. Personally I would be happy if that 06z GFS were to verify. Chances over the weekend for some snow and into next week for our region, then the easterly I'm convinced would favour our region more than most apart from the South East who would get a pasting. I'd happily look forward to spring if we could get a good 3-5 day easterly in with snow and a few ice days. I'm not sure what temp difference(850's - sea temps) aids good convection, but currently North Sea temps are 8-9C and with uppers of -7/-8C that's adequate I'm sure and on a stiff bone chilling wind should spread well inland, then there's the chance of disturbances in the flow. ALL IS TO PLAY FOR IMHO
  3. But surely sea temps are still pretty high given the lack of cold this winter?
  4. Well the output hasn't changed that much, and can swing back. Last night was about as good as it could get in the current setup and downgrades were much more likely than upgrades, which is good as it leaves room for improvement now. Personally I'd prefer upgrades to arrive later today/tomorrow. As long as the theme continues. But just in case, think I'll book a meeting in the north Midlands somewhere with an overnight stay on Monday! :-)
  5. Very disappointing update from Ian in the Mod thread. You can argue the toss with most members but if the Met are saying no snow for South then I reckon we are out of luck.....again! Still 6 weeks of winter left. EDIT: I'm going to remain positive. Still time for upgrades
  6. Was noisy at midnight when I went to sleep, I'm expecting Debris to be everywhere when I venture out. My fence survived which makes a change
  7. Oh come on I think it was tongue in cheek and it would appear Steve took it well, let's not get into this in our friendly regional! Missed the wind associated with the squal line, was it bad?
  8. All this will it snow imby nonsense, if it snows only north of the M4, guess what! I'll be getting in my car and driving there! The best model watching I can remember for a long while. For any newbies, my advice would be to ignore the detail of where will it snow and at what time, take time to read the more experienced members posts, sit back and enjoy! Somewhere in the UK will hit the jackpot!
  9. Wow the wind is properly howling now, has to be the strongest gust of the night!
  10. I would but I gotta be somewhere........Getting some beefy gusts here now!!
  11. Indeed, think I'll see what the pros say before writing anything off snow wise
  12. I've just got a feeling everything will be a bit further south and west than currently modelled. I certainly hope so
  13. Quite often it ends up okay as the Purbeck area aids my location on a south west flow, not always, but I've seen snow in my locale and 15 miles east nout as it truly is straight off the coast. like you say likely to change, but here's to hoping.
  14. Really irritating not being able to see the 850 Temps on UKMO. Crucial for IMBY
  15. it seems we a have new model - the GFS(P)ause EDIT: Nick beat me to it
  16. Yes definitely liking the look of the ECM Mean, cold throughout after Friday
  17. It's tipping it down here, with a mixture of rain, sleet and Chunky wet snow flakes. Woke a few times but the showers seemed to miss here, but going from what others have said, it would likely have nothing anyway.
  18. Same! They should have coin meters, I'd happily keep it topped up for nights like this lol
  19. Well things can only get better as far as I'm concerned. I was not expecting that precip to fall as snow. Temp 1.7C DP -0.6
