    haha shock horror heights fail to make it greenland and the ridge topples same old story but that deep FI anyway UKMO not backing down but maybe it will finally admit defeat on the 12z ?? block might collapse if it went past T144

    you couldn't make it up the UKMO does not follow the GFS and ECM the saga continues these models are baffling

    yep bad news is we have 3 months of this to come chasing phantom cold spells, so be prepared for more ups and downs, dunno have many setbacks i can take stupid difference between that and GFS at such a short range as well, best thing to do is look out of the window

    cruel twist of fate thats the models for you it happens a lot, i should be used to this but its still hard to take the difference between this run and the 18z is laughable

    these models make us look like mugs, all this hype for nothing, the current GFS couldn't be more bland anyway bright side is its still not even winter yet

    heights are completely gone from Greenland what a difference this run is its a myth that models underestimate blocking that isn't always true

    straight away at first glance and GFS backs down, ECM wins zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz yet again all this hype for nothing, FI cold blast will show up i guess

    its not one run though ECM hasn't been that great all weekend what a kick in the proverbials, i suppose its back to chasing cold charts at T300 again

    if the ECM and the minor models are correct its time to call the GFS and UKMO cannon fodder ECM T144 is such a typical chart for this part of the world, ridge toppling such a common synoptic

    thanks, i hardly know anything about the strat, but i have learned a bit and i just thought i add a bit of humour to the threadand thanks to the posters on here who keep us novices updated on things

    there always has to be a party pooper and today its the GEM, how can that be so different, if that were to happen it would be just bog standard weather and all this fuss will be for nothing also nogaps is shocking too, thank god GFS and UKMO don't show this, i bet gavin hopes the GEM is right lol

    we can't keep thinking that the GFS always wants to reset to default in FI. GFS has shown this scenario for a few runs now

    yes agree i hope it don't end up toppling, though its usually what happens, blocking don't look as strong

    looks to me the like blocking over Greenland ends up too far north and west and allows the Azores high to ridge in, but its all in FI anyway so it will change again, plus i don't trust the BOM even when it shows a bitter easterly, but i just thought I'd mention it since folk have been raving it about recently

    the vortex is like the liquid terminator T1000, it might smash to pieces when attacked but then it reforms again

    yes agree heights around Greenland don't look as strong on this run, i don't like the look of that powerful low near Greenland at T192 but thats FI so things will change again

    yes the uppers look cold enough for snow on the ECM but how much snow will there be? a lot of the time we get the cold uppers and its dry, even though those charts show low pressure over us with those blues

    uppers are actually quite cold at T192 even though synoptics look a bit messy
