Mate, we build ourselves up to this moment. Through all the agonising near misses and endless model runs when we clutch at straws at the F.I snow fests. We sometimes wait a couple of Winters to see some decent snow falling! I think that's why it feels so good when you finally see it falling outside of your window
Good stuff Pleased for you guys up there.
Yep. This kind of set up is rubbish for Northampton. Best we can hope for this coming week is snow showers blowing in from the East.
I no longer live in Leicester Been in Northampton for the past year. We aren't even close to snow this evening. I hope my Mum sends me some pics of it when that band hits in a few minutes
Tenner says it splits in half as it approaches Leicester seriously though, i'd be willing to bet decent money on Leicester getting a dusting from that band.
It will. Spare a thought for us Northamptoners though. Nothing is heading this way Oh well, i'm happy for you guys that have snow. Maybe we will get our share, later in the Winter.
Well, I hold my hands up on this one. I got it completely wrong the pivot moved South and now the showers are blowing in on a W/SW track! Good news for you guys in the West Mids
That part of the band won't be heading in a W/SW direction. The current pivot point is Leicester and just North of Birmingham. The area to keep an eye on would be this one, as it starts to track South, just North of Brum
There is a definite pivot. Run the radar animation for the last hour and you can see the pivot point seems to be just above Birmingham and Leicester. The PPN that is around us in Northampton, is heading NW to SE in direction.
Good to see that some of you had some snow last night! It was close, but no cigar here in Northampton. We had rain and the temperature was 2.3 with a dew of 1.1 we were simply too low down though. 65m ASL is not going to cut it in a borderline event like that.
