  1. I have booked sept in Spain to counteract the failure of summer to start in may and june.
  2. I'm walking the hills though so it will be about 14c at home.
  3. I just had to put gloves on. No 20C uppers. Surface temp only 8C still.
  4. Coldest June day ever here. Currently 8C with east wind on my daily evening walk over the hills. This exact time in February it was 20C and I had tshirt on. Winter jacket today
  5. The breakdown of weather after this week will actually be warmer, so it's actually a breakup to warmer conditions. from 13c TO 20c will be a nice change!
  6. Still only 13C , just had to put the heating on in the office meanwhile France is pushing up into the 30's
  7. I wish that's quite high for this June and current temps. Some places will see half of that today. Currently got 11C , last week models expected 30C. It was close though the plume reached France and moved east, we were close to it reaching the UK very fine line but never did.
  8. Last week expected for today 30-34C Current temp 11C So I'm closer to freezing point than I am 30c One of the biggest plume fails of all time
  9. Yes I think you will find a few home grown storms (if they can push through the cap) similar to yesterday over Welsh Marches. Favoured places will be Brecon Beacons, Devon Hills, converge zones.
  10. What do you mean forget the plume? it starts tomorrow at 3pm, then ends at 3.01pm
  11. Cool NE winds are within 100 miles of London Lerwick is 769 miles from London
  12. Oh so the temperatures will be 35C+ then over the next few days and the uppers are correct and the NE/SW cooling influence from either side plays no part at all.
  13. Ahhhh The warmer air in 1995 covers a much broader area . In 2019 it's a narrow wedge of warm air surrounded by cool air. Bit like having 1 room with heating on in your house and wondering why the entire house is still only showing 10C on thermometer. When cool interjects from both sides, it doesn't matter if the uppers are 15C or 25C the overall surface temps will be average.
  14. Wonder what the record for the lowest surface temp and combined upper temp are. UK might be about to break that record
  15. Yes looks like the strong winds in the SW will keep it cool and the NE sea the other side the country does the same. UK wasn't really designed for plumes or hot weather.
  16. France plume looking at that, North sea cuts off the plume compared to more traditional Spanish plumes
  17. So the GFS temps were close to the mark after all. Here in the west it's been a cloudy wet week so far but warm. I think the "plume" that was hyped to death wasnt actually a plume it was just a high pressure building from NE meeting an Atlantic based Low. Rather than low over biscay , high over france, Germany. Not really a plume in the traditional sense
  18. Er... Not sure I do know you can see amazing lightning and experience 40C tonight but you would probably have to drop acid and listen to Aphex Twin to do so
  19. Interesting, thanks. Those in West , alarm set for 4am check might be idea..
