    Lightning activity really picked up in last 5 minutes on lightningmaps.org, pretty much continious from the devon and somerset line.

    That MCS will drain all the power from anything around it, it's overnight more favoured conditions will produce fresh storms in places

    I don't think we are quite out of the woods just yet, an area of rain is turning to snow over south wales currently, this will push up into mid wales this afternoon. Will be interesting to see if temps lower later and the beast from the east gives one last hurrah.

    It is a lot warmer than I was expecting at this time, temps will be well into the 20s, 24c, 25c even by Midnight

    Great! Where about? had a quick check of radar/lightning map/ATD cant see any. Ah yes can see, a new strike just popped up off Pembroke coast.

    15z seems to be the optimal time - maybe the front will help as it drifts in from west wales
