Wet snow again. Loads of showers coming now from the Irish sea.

Could t be the trough that the gfs is forecasting for the early hours but arriving earlier instead? It should hit Cumbria in a couple of hours so let's see what reports come from there. Meanwhile, the showers in the Irish sea have pepped up and should affect more parts of our region soon.

A hail shower would be just fine for me as long as it is heavy! Much easier to settle than snow.

For my location, easterlies are better than northeasterlies. However, anything that lengthens the cold spell is good for me even if it is dry.

Ironically, the 12z GFS has a heavy band of precipitation over us tomorrow morning (when the uppers will be above -5c) and a light fragmented band for tomorrow night when the colder uppers will be moving in.

Agreed! I stayed up till 2am so when the alarm went off at 7:30 I wanted to throw it our of the window! However, beggars can't be choosers so I'll happily receive it anytime.

With less moderation from the Irish sea, it could be snow. But the problem is there will be less energy in the system due to its long track over land.

I will be out and about tomorrow night till the morning so I should see if those showers make it here. I fear they will break up inland as it usually happens in a straight northerly. We need Tuesday's trough to move further east as at the moment it looks like missing us completely!
