I know what you mean and I 'd love a screaming easterly with -10 uppers and snow showers making it over the Pennines with ease.

I can't see us getting a deep easterly from Siberia anytime soon. Next week looks like having a weak Scandi block so the best chance for snow here would be from a frontal system coming from the west and stalling over us.

The next two weeks will be the crescendo of this winter with road closures and frozen canals! Then when I step my foot back in the country the southwesterlies will return! So make the most of it folks.

What's happening in the Liverpool area? The radar shows a lot of precipitation there.

People around the Blackpool area should be watching those sharp showers just north of Anglesea as they are heading that way.
