    I think any sort of Easterly is dead now, it all about the retrogression mid month, and a lot can still go wrong with that.

    It really takes extraordinary synoptics to bring proper cold now due to AGW and expansion of the Hadley cells.

    It what way is it flat?. Negatively tilted ridges are normally good things.

    That is not how you measure NAO. The NAO is a North/South measurement.

    Not due to a West based -NAO though, but down to the absence of a -NAO.

    I see nothing in the output showing this at all.
