  1. Don't know where abouts you are exactly, but by coate water where I am, it absolutely tipped it down!
  2. God damn it, everything has literally JUST missed Swindon by a whisker. We've had drizzle and are now in a big gap which looks like we'll stay in for the rest of the night. Oh well, hope everyone else is enjoying it!
  3. Well by the look of the radar, there's a cell approaching swindon which will hit around 8:30. I'm going to be out picking up my missus at that time so I'll report back with any interesting developments!
  4. I'm on holiday near Milford haven atm and am surprised to see this area covered for a storm forecast! Is the threat mainly for later after the front has passed?
  5. Moderate steady rain here. Edge of the system is rotating right on top of us and coming back north. Put SN3 into the postcode zoom on the radar and run the loop to see.
  6. Looking at the 5 minute radar for my location and it's pepped up a treat in one 5 minute frame! 00:40 = 00:45 = EDIT: Oh, well 5 minutes later it's died down again. :-/ what's going on? 00:50 =
  7. I work in Westbury and if it's still anything like it was earlier, I don't blame you for going out there! Bloody sweltering it was!
  8. Had a lightning strike just outside swindon about 20 minutes ago. Really bright and loud thunder. Has been picked up on the isle of wight lightning detector as the only strike on mainland uk so far http://www.isleofwightweather.co.uk/live_storm_data.htm I think I got really lucky!
  9. According to the radar we had a storm over us with lightning at about 2:40am. No chance of me being up at that time! Oh well, onto the next time!
  10. Snowing lightly again here! If only the NW extra radar was working as I thought we weren't going to get any more?
  11. Showers? what showers? as far as I can see on radar, they're all to the east of us and are dying out now O_o Would love to be surprised though! lol
  12. Well that's it done here! Ended up with about 2-3 inches which aint bad
  13. EEEK! getting so so knife edge now: Still snowing thankfully but looks like it may not be fore much longer
  14. Just been outside in just my boxers to let the dog have a pee, mighty cold out there! I feel all Scandinavian now. Edit: temperature still dropping, we're at -8.6 now. air pressure has held at 1039.1mb.
  15. Down to -8.1 here now. Only took a couple of hours to go from -6.8 to that!
  16. Just did! temp at -7.2 and with 1039mb air pressure and rising atm. Happy boy here!
  17. -5.3 here in swindon now! Might go and have another look at the pond and see how the ice is getting on.
  18. Just thought I'd go out and take some pictures of my pond. Even though it has a small fountain and therefore, moving water, it's still freezing over to about 2cm thick ice! Interestingly, around the fountain, the water is bubbling up against the edge of the ice, causing ice to form upwards away from the surface of the water.
  19. If I recall, this is EXACTLY what was forecast back in 2009 when we had almost a foot of snow dumped on us. It was forecast to be heavy snow and then rain, but it just kept snowing and snowing and none of the models saw it. So don't write it off yet! It could be awesome!
  20. Got nothing here in swindon haha. Oh well, it was never really forecast to come this far in the first place so the fact that I actually saw a few flakes is good enough. Those who are getting a decent amount, enjoy it! Here's to the next lot!
  21. Got some EXTREMELY tiny flakes blowing around in the wind here. But they're sparse, like I saw 2 in twenty seconds.
