  1. Loving this cold & frosty spell and it's taken it's flipping time to materialise during the final stage of February, better late then never!
  2. A new thread to discuss current conditions & the potential for one last cold shot this winter, albeit a non snowy one! Old thread here >>
  3. Yeah the sun is getting much stronger now and makes short work of the frost, away from the shade anyway. Temp already jumped up from -1.7c to -0.1c in the last 60 mins. I have a dark roller blind which acts as a black out during the lighter mornings
  4. Theres loads of apps you can download if you want to hear thunderstorms and rain, some really good white noise apps as well. This may come in handy in a few months time for those storm starved members on Netweather, so they don't feel all left out - So, I've merged it with the No Storms Club thread
  5. Another clear start to a late winters day, unheard of! Very nippy with an outside temp right now of -1.7c.
  6. It would certainly feel very seasonable and spring like to start March if the ECM verified, 1040mb high slap bang on top of the UK with some warmer air locked in. Why oh why can we not get synoptics like this during our summertime! (not that it's 100% likely to come off) I'm looking forward to the cold frosty and settled weather over the coming days because we just haven't had any so far this winter! Bar the odd day here and there. So a seasonable spell of weather to end to winter is on the cards and who knows we may even start spring with a seasonal flavour with some warmth.
  7. It's good to see a fair few colder options within the ECM suite this evening, a downward trend and perhaps this will continue until they all support that illusive GH
  8. Clear & calm under a lovely starry sky, really crystal clear tonight. Temp currently at -0.1c.

  10. Looks like a cracking day coming up as dawn breaks under clear skies. Pretty cold out there as well currently -1.2c. Edit : Now -1.8c
  11. Potentially the driest spell of weather the UK has experienced for many many months with strong support for high pressure to remain close to our shores. We'll probably end up with an early season hosepipe ban and we all know what followed This winter has been much wetter than the last one though so water levels should manage to survive a lengthy dry spell.
  12. Incidentally the majority who only log onto weather forums during the winter time in hope of snow are not the real weather enthusiasts. There is much more to meteorology than just seeing snow falling from the sky. Anybody is free to join in with the open discussions on the forums whether they prefer mild, cold, snow or rain. The weather is happening 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
  13. Lovely late winters day up in Cumbria with barely a cloud in the sky since dawn. Reached 8.4c but the rather stiff SE'ly sind is making it feel decidedly chilly. Welcome day1973
  14. The same thing happens year in year out with this year being no exception! Perhaps one of these winters an easterly will actually come off and i'd still be cautious until it was inside T72 with full support across the board.
