17.2°C for me, exactly a degree above average. I doubt it will be a cool month and will be very suprised it we dont get at least one hot snap to bring it up.

The Not The Long Range Forecast mean temperature comes out at 17.1°C, if anyone's interested. But, remember, it's NOT a forecast ...!

Personally, i cannot see 20.4C coming off, however every prediction above that does have a chance however if the first week of August does produce a CET around 0.4C below average as i expect, then i cannot see the CET being above 18.8C.

Strange you should say that Shugs. Last night was the first night since the 19th July that i've used the duvet.

I think after next weeks unsettled weather the month will be fairly dry again in the south, but further north it may remain changeable. I think the moth will be certainly above average in terms of temperatures, but nothing like July. I would say 17.0ºc

Sorry I missed last night - we were out at a family meal.

I don't see August as extraordinarily hot, but the odds are, as always, that it will be above average:

Therefore August CET = 17.5. It'll be very close to a record-breaking summer and we'll all be aguing like hell whether it is, or not, at the death.

well who would of gussed it August is here all ready.

The current pattern establishing at the moment from the gfs is for much cooler weather to establish slowly from the north as Greenland cools down dramatically. Increasing northerly outbreaks will give cooler weather at times (especially towards the end of the month) with mid-month look wet but warm.

Although not a record breaking month there is still enough residual heat around to push the CET above average. 17.3 C for me.

Although I'm certainly expecting August to another warm month I think perhaps my 18.7C is going to be too high - but hey, a punt is a punt and just for fun - so I'm not going to change it now anyway. It will probably be nearer 17.5C for those who have pitched around there.

Tamara

I am with you on this one Princess. Seen as I was almost spot on with July  I will go for 17.6C and will no doubt be way off the mark...

I think that we're dismissiong the possible Continental influence too soon (yes, I know that's not what the GFS says). More heat to come from the South and a second-half hike is my intuition on this one. Still 18.3. :)
