Agreed J1.

And it was a bit cheesey to say "the barbeque summer has arrived". Pats on the back all round at the meto - with 2/3rds of the summer to go, a bit risky....?

A casual Thomasz predicting the coldest night of the week to be Monday into Tuesday (possibly 0ºC in say, Shrewsbury), sunny start, cloudy middle with talk of anti-cyclonic gloom, then more sunny again friday/next weekend. High pressure all the way.

FORCAST WENT TO FRIDAY AS FAR AS CAN SEE MAYBE TV BROKEwhistling.gif

Forecast fairly simple till Friday this week . Rain and Wind Monday and Tuesday , Blustery Showers Wednesday and calming down Thursday and Friday as pressure starts to build from the South. It is Next weeks Country File that I think will be a hard one to call.

Country file weather on in a minute. The last bbc forcast i saw mentioned colder by end of week. What set of runs do they normally use?

Probably METO, The BBC does rely on the Met office for its forecasts

Countryfile forecast said colder from wednesday with a biting easterly wind,

Snow coming in Thursday and Friday, but how much was uncertain.....

Ended with "Just to be clear snow is in the forecast for the second half of the week"

A pretty good forecast and very cautious of any snowfall, but seem confident that there will be some from Wednesday onwards. ATM, I think my location is a little far west to see any real fun and games, but obviously it's too far off to look at real details. The main focus is that it will get cold and that's enough to please me for now! Anything more would be a bonus.

:)

Loved the Friday map, which showed snow in Edinburgh but not London! Encouraging for those of us in FIfe/Angus as hopefully this means snow extending a bit further north of the Forth as well!

I presume it changed time this week due to Sports Personality of the Year being on this evening.

If you go onto Youtube and search for "UK forecast", then select 'Today' from the drop down list labelled 'Uploaded' at the top of the page, the Country Tracks forecast is the first one. This drop down list may show 'Anytime' before you select 'today'. The second one isn't from Country Tracks, but it is similar with snow showing for the end of the week.
