the next best days for storms are next Thusday but this will change before that :(

Hi Stu :)

Yes Thursday certainly does look the best day for storms, although the risk is a lot lower than

what we have had this week.

Like you I will be keeping an eye open though just incase. I don't want to miss any action

Brian :)

I have been looking at the latest MO rainfall radar and is the band of rain that is to the south west the band thats going to bring all the wet weather tomorrow or is a that something different?

Shrewsburys prepared... all riverside car parks closed, riverside defences are all up... river now 2.8 meters above normal, but still a way off being critical for this flood prone town...

i live by the river and we get "local alerts" sent to out phone if its going to get really bad.. had one last night but nothing today... yet..

Local predictions have the river peaking at 3.1 - 3.5 today late evening..

be intresting to see if the local prediction next update revises this upwards...

looked at Shrewsburys web cam still plenty of room below that bridge!!!

It looks like there is the chance of the odd clap or two of thunder in the early hours on the GFS, nothing much though I don't think.

Keep an eye on the sferics and radar just in case :o

These showers are still developing quite widely at this time of night around here to the west/NW/N with a couple of Tcu and a CB reminds me a little of one night in October 2004.

Also had another shower here too.

Damp outside, dull quite boring, but there is light at the end of the tunnel, the low passed through without a severe dumping, that has to be a good sign.

Maybe the high to our south on Wednesdays fax might even push a smidgen further North......Pleeeeeeeease :D

A band of light rain has passed through and now it is dry and bright with some decent convection kicking-in. This afternoon should have my favourite summer weather: slow moving heavy showers.

Apprantly there was a funnel cloud in Aberdeen today according to xcweather so if you look on there site you will se it reported. I don't know if this is accurate but interesting none the less.

I am very interested in this large area of storms moving north. Recon the met office will put out a warning before long maybe.

This is associated with the low in France. It will affect the southeast but hopefully the worst affected areas will narrowly escape.

There are some heavy showers to the east/northeast of me but they don't seem to move very much.

It's been raining steadily for about 30 minutes here now and judging from the weather radar looks set to stay that way most of the evening. The low coming in looks to be moving quite quickly though so, hopefully, should move through by morning.
