Light Snow showers on and off for last hour here in North Bristol, but v.wet snow. Not worth having to be honest!

Thursday/Friday event too close to call IMO. Wait and see how things firm up over the next day or so

Is any snow likely in South Wales tonight? Or will it just be a clear night?

Moving ENE seems to be dying all day as they head in that area. That line getting somewhere west of london.

As the low moves slightly they could end up a bit further west, Maybe as far as East wales later if they do not die out ( or is that wishful thinking)

Still Showers heading in over Cornwall and moving North and lots of activity off the west wales Coast

Heading to Dorset - HAmpshire? see Meteox

Heard on the traffic news that West Dorset has just copped a lot, particularly Lyme Regis where there has been many traffic incidents

I would say it'll probably go the way of most of today's snow. That is across E Dorset and Wiltshire area. With maybe the odd flurry towards the W of that.

Those showers are just too far east. They seem to go NNWards and then when they get to the North Somerset they move directly Nwards. Oh well, the skies are now going to clear for an icy night I guess.

Just got back from work.

I'm surprised that the snow moved back northwards at around noon, towards North/Mid Wales and dropped another 2 inches here!

Temps today sort of risen late this afternoon to 1.1c there was`nt that much sun all day except late morning, as this SE-ly flow lp tends to bring alot of low cloud here, still some gaps of sun at times,0.3c now and the snow in freezing and it`ll go powdery again, even saw some drifting just over an hour ago as the wind is only light E/SE it picked up in odd gusts,it`s been drifting off the fields in places all day.

So a catch up where do we stand tonight a few showers heading north maybe,a frost.

Upper air is still cold enough.

http://91.121.93.17/pics/Rmgfs182.gif

Goes upto -4c upper then and an east wind continues.

http://91.121.93.17/pics/Rmgfs302.gif

Shouldn`t be much thawing tomorrow either,a degree higher to today though.

Just had 1/2 hour of sleety snow in East Dorset, covered the roads to inch or so, temp +1. Have to take my son to Bournemouth station in 1/2 hour, should be fun

highways agency weatherwatch for the south west

Tuesday evening and overnight:

Some hail, sleet or snow showers will last through the evening and overnight in parts of Hampshire and the southwest, particularly on roads close to English Channel coasts. Elsewhere, the night will be fine and dry, but with a widespread frost developing soon after dusk. Some mist and localised fog patches are expected towards the end of the night, when road users should allow a little extra time for defrosting vehicle windows completely.

Wednesday:

After a frosty start with localised mist and fog patches, the rest of the morning and early afternoon will be dry and bright. During the afternoon a band of rain will reach the southwest, and will spread slowly northwards and eastwards during the evening to reach the M4 by midnight. This rain will be preceded by snow, which will give further small accumulations on roads such as the A303 and the M3 by late evening.
