Heating should be strong enough for some heavy showers and home growns in the south west soon, about 24 here at the minute, another degree or two to go.

We are supposed to be in the best position for storms tonight. It has been so long since I have had a proper storm, that I find it hard to believe that is the case.

Saying that, it feels a lot warmer and muggy since around 1pm. This morning had a cool stiff breeze with cloudy skies. But since then thing have improved.

I really don't know why anyone would want it hotter than this. Fair enough if they want it sunnier, but i cant see why anyone would want it any hotter and more unbearable (i know now is nothing compared to what it will probably be like next week).

Higher temperatures now leading to a bit more convective activity around here, very warm and quite humid too.

It would be good to have a decent storm that produces a lot of hail.

I havent seen a good hailstorm for YEARS!

Think W Yorks might miss on the tstorms today / tomorrow.

Nevermind Monday 15th & 22nd produced 2 intense storms creating significant local flooding. Across the city in the east it was dry !

click on(No6) for a good strike hitting the tallest building in Leeds city centre,

Dave could this be a repeat of the 9th may 2008 if so i cant wait

I will admit it had crossed my mind! There are some similarities with that day, that would be fantastic if we got anything like that but the chances of such an organised multicell cluster are low. But you never know!

And dogs, there is still a chance you might catch something this afternoon and you have a fairly good shot at later tonight too.
