For that storm heading for south wales, I have 2 webcams to show you.

http://www.oxwichbayhotel.co.uk/webcam.htm

http://www.thewormshead.co.uk/Rhossili_Weather_Cam.html

Good views on both, especially the second link. :(

Best one is the langland cam, it looks directly over to SW england

I've just been watching the storm you people directly to my north are getting. Loads of clear, strong lightning strikes and thunder. I only wish it was night or I had a video camera!

The cell now over the Bristol Channel area popped up very quickly and the top is visible from here with nice glaciating tops. It seems the trigger temperature plus a bit of forcing from the trough have been enough. Further towers now to the SE of here over the IOW area I would suspect.

Friday will be dependent on what happens tonight. There may be lots of CAPE but it will not be realised if we are left with an ovehang of cloud decaying from tonight in the south holding back the temperatures.

Temperature rise this afternoon was pretty impressive, putting on 10C from 11.00 to 15.00.

is that over weston?

That I don't know, but the strikes seemed to be all concentrated in an area directly in a line North from Ashill. How far away I'm not sure.

So that thunderstorm heading for Wales had made progress, stalled over the sea and died? - It's what it looks like anyway
