I've heard that we may be getting another 10cm in parts of Kent, is that correct?

More towards East , North East Kent

Absolutely No Snow melt at home after having touched base, and my weather station saying -0.5c with -2.7c Dewpoint :D

Going to be very cold and icy tonight - Keeping the 6" in the back garden due to the kids being banned until I get home

Something else that needs to be watched is the amount of ice that is going to present, the snow on the ground is likely to freeze up again and ice is going to be a very important thing to watch.

Still clear here and hopefully the showers don't actually come here as they are going to be light if they do anyway, I'd much rather have a very cold night instead and set-up for a ice day tomorrow...snow still pretty good on the ground, not really melting much at all apart from obviously close to the house.

Surely it's a snowbot!

Anyway, nice heavy shower here, looks like more to come! Trying to petition the boss to send us home!

Snow thin enough to melt on sun facing roofs - once it gets started and removes some snow it can heat up the tiles and accelerate the melt - but in shade none. and icicle formed on my car after I removed the snow.

I was walking my dogs last night about 2000h when that bizzard hit the east coast of Suffolk. I was about 10 miles northeast of Ipswich when there was an amazing flash of lightning that lit up the entire eastern sky, followed by horizontal heavy snow and visability down to about 5ft. The snow fell until about 2230 and deposited between 4-5". The weather reporter was on BBC radio last night and said that to get thunder snow, the clouds need to be about 15000ft upwards in elevation. Many tree branches cracking and falling last night due to the weight of snow on them. Maximum temp at Wattisham at 1200h today -3 deg. Currently heavy snow falling.

I can see some nasty looking clouds to the north above Whitfield (North Dover) so it is definitely on it's way :)

No further snow today in Brighton but to see a load of snow on the beach was amazing, as was the 3am snowball fight in the local park last night. No melting of snow whatsoever here that I have noticed, which is great given the altitude and the proximity to the sea.

Wind direction has changed into the north , the streamer is starting to head more towards the very far east kent and down the dover straights... Not good , will need to keep an eye on things next few hrs

Some bad news.... The northerly has really kicked in again, its up to 18 mph at Whitstable on the beach now, so that lovely kent streamer is going to not make us but head straight south, if you check the radar it has already started that deteriation.

You can clearly see the streamer slipping down and into the channel. what a shame
