I haven't been on since last night because I got ready this morning and have now been outside enjoying myself in my electric wheelchair - plenty of spin turns and skids! (Yes, I am disabled; for those who are now feeling embarrassed - don't be) Anyway, late last night I thought we'd get almost nothing, but was pleasantly surprised to see 2 - 2.5 inches or so of lying snow. From the NW radr, it seems that the main frontal snow edged further northwards than I expected and therefore gave us some welcome snowfall, before it seemed to meet-up with the streamer over the Fens further south-west.

After getting togged-up, I spent about an hour outside in our village, but a hefty snow shower was turning me into a mobile snowman, plus the snow was sticking to me specs, so I have come in. Snow is now easing-off, but it's certainly topped-up what we had and any that had just started melting. Roads in the village are nasty - icy slush that's now got a fresh carpet of snow on top.

Can anyone update me on the synoptics and thoughts fropm the models for the next few days, please? Is my reading of what happened overnight accurate?

are we due another load in luton later??

NO.

The band from the wash will never move that far inland and the showers forming in the North Sea will cross Suffolk, Essex and kent.

You will have more snow saturday night im sure

Any idea if that band of snow showers over the Wash area may push further south?

I feel its going to become fairly stationary and gradually fizzle out.

No its not expected to move inland, although big showers will form in the North Sea and run across Essex and kent - Lucky them!!

I'd expect the whole lot to eventually be forced southwards but your right its very soon going to lose the source of its energy and decay whilst the eastern part takes over, which is what the models have been suggesting for a while.

f all snow here, had a little early last night which melted. Somehow it all managed to miss me :[ now its strong sun and feeling warmer. today was forecast to be epic snow and ice with college canceled but no..., like 100% risk of 'moderate' snow, then nothing.

Its delivering nothing here other than some cloud now, so I shouldn't expect too much those of you to the south/southwest of Suffolk!

Still -0.9ºC here with lovely winter sunshine. There is a little melting in expected areas in direct sunshine, but no ground melt. If anything the temperature seems to have reduced by half a degree since the snow stopped this morning.

Yep I think your right there, cold front is probably going to be fairly active as well so could well see some more conditions like last night when the second front came through and gave the very stormy conditions.

Convection developing now north of Kent and heading in, could be a fairly snowy few hours coming up for some.
