Seems as though everywhere east of High Wycombe is Rain/Sleet.

High Wycombe/ Amersham reporting Heavy Snow.

We are in West Herts too, so no where in Herts will see snow if we and Hemel don't see any.......

Places to the West of the Front have a Northerly element to the wind which is surpressing the temps to around the zero degree mark, also now West of the system the temps are dropping, the problem is in the middle and to the east of the system where a Milder wedge of air has increased the temperature by as much as 7c since first thing this morning, I chose High Wycombe as My sweet spot late last night in the last thread and this looks like being the lucky place today,

Judging by the bbc forecast they expect the front to pivot back nw'wards later in the afternoon, the ukmo had better hope this happens otherwise the weather warnings for further north towards the east midlands and further east are going to look very wayward, at the moment the precip seems to be tracking ene.

Yep, raining in Mid Sussex with a thick layer of Slush-Puppy everywhere on the ground. Just concerned that if this lot freezes tonight, the SE will stage the biggest ever live 'Dancing on Ice' contest. :(

Yes tonight is going to be dangerous and I would urge people to not drive if they dont have to!

The temperature has dropped from a peak of 5c just before noon to just 2.3c now. Heavy rain continues to be mixed with soft slushy hail, which is now being deposited on many surfaces.

Rain melting everything away now but I can only imagine ice is going to be one again a very big issue once the frontal system clears through eventually...still cold but obviously not quite as cold as it has been, temps now at 2C.

Hi Hammer,

Hope your well.

So you expect it to change over to snow eventually then?

Certainly very interesting here. Rain started with the temp at 3.7ºC which had reduced with evaporative cooling to 2.3ºC. Then the hail started for about 5 mins which has now whitened everywhere again. Currently raining with hail and sleety bits and the temperature has reduced further to 1.3ºC. If this continues then the possiblity of a full change to snow is not out of the question.
