Temperature really plummeting now, at an unbelievable rate, -4.2C now. -10C looks like it'll be warm come the morning!

Brilliant temperatures for the coast. Currentley -4.0 here.

its screeched to a halt at -4.2C, no cloud but a breeze or something is stopping it, and cloud on the horizon. It may rise.

If I dont get below -5C then Wirral surely has the coveted title of most tropical place in NW England!

wouldnt be surprised if it is, its absolutely freezing.

however, i think -8 is closer to the mark

a bit chilly :o

-15 in woodford @ 22.00!!!!!

also st bees head -5.5c very low as its by the sea front.

Dare I say it, I'm actually jealous of Manchester :o lol

Temp rose to -6.5°c, but thankfully on it's way down again -7.3°C, a bit of a breeze at times though so I don't think it will go that low tonight.

Could Woodfords -12 be a correct reading?.......just been outside and it's bone chillingly cold in Cheadle :o

I have just walked the dog from Bramhall to Woodford and back, and it is bone chilling. The reading I think is correct. My thermometer in the garage in Bramhall is reading -12, and I am in a housing area.

oops my temperatures on the up now - no cloud! thats the coast for you.

Interestingly 1963 wasn't that cold here in terms of extremes, the lowest temperature was only about -6C according to Library records.

Blackpool - on the coast almost nothing asl, is at -6c with a DP of -7c! Incredible!

Mine really is fluctuating, -4.9c about 2 hours ago, -3.8c now.
