Mild here last night compared to many others. Low of -6.1c at 05:38. Breeze from the NW making it feel bitter

No problem, i think Pershore was right at the extreme but most other areas around here around -10 to -13c.

I've just done the school run (on foot!) ... -7.5 at least out there, it's very cold. My husband has gone to work, it took him half an hour or so to get the car out and as far as I know he's still en route on a journey that usually takes him 25 minutes! Off the main routes in birmingham some of the roads are pretty bad. At my kids school it looked like loads of kids were off. It was pretty exciting out there though, a real winter wonderland!

GMTV just mentioned snow spreading across the Midlands later and perhaps reaching East Wales! :(

I dont remember this being forecast yesterday!

BBC said that there would be snow showers effecting parts of the east midlands but did look like that they would struggle to get to Nottingham. The Radar however show a more organised band working its way inland :(

Unless that's just what I am wanting to see

my 2 boys have their schools shut again today!rolleyes.gifpardon.gif

Yep mine is off today too. Must be very icy. Many schools acorss Herefordshire and Worcestershire and the West Midlands are closed today however a few are braving it and starting late with some also asking to bring packed lunches in because of no hot meals!!! Brrr!

I would certainly keep an eye on the system to our east/south-east.

Ideally, we need this system to push more inland. At a rough estimate looking at the charts, the flow of the ppn, may change more north to south later.

It might be interesting, so keep you eyes peeled on the radar.

To our SE? Isn't that just heading further south ?

The precip building to our NE in the north sea heading towards Newcastle and Boro looks interesting

It is, and this is the risk. The ppn you see is linked to this feature.

As it moves south, it pulls in a more northerly feed.
