Here we go boys. Looking longer term. Thr East wind is with us up till Wednesday next week, then it goes into a south Easterly direction. Then the high slips back to the north again, and this reopens the Easterly door again...its not looking good...for salt supplys. Anybody have views on a south easterly. I know europe is in the same cold snap, but what about snow fron that direction ????

Good, need that high to bugger off back NW really.

A SE wind is usually pretty dry, but with the continent perishing, it will really be bitter in the SE/EA.

Centre of that low seems to be on a NNE to SSW move. VERY rough estimate of about 25 MPH, Looking at the momment to be 50 or so miles from the Medway/Sheppey area and heading straight this way.

Once it passes winds should shift E and pull a lot of showers up the Estuary for South Essex / North Kent.

Just my thoughts

Anyone else?????

Agreed. Probably a couple more hours yet. But a possible streamer could be in the offing...

As always though, LP systems can be a bugger to predict their track. Could end up with naff all if it shifts the wrong way, or you get stuck under the core?

The reports from Hertford and Waltham abbey prompted me to call home from City (where I have an office with no window outside!). Looks like we had that very brief spell of fine snow as well. Didn't expect that and won't expect anything more really for the next 24 hours...

And its stopped! :cold:

Agreed, as the low pulls further SW the E breeze will bring showers in to much of EA and SE. Noticed the intensifying showers heading for Suffolk and Essex as we speak?! Exciting times :D

Youll have to wach the warm sector :s

There isn't a warm sector , is a low pressure developed from deep cold air.

it was indeed. i'm so hopeful that this cold spell will eventually deliver for us.

we do have about 2 inches in my part of S London , but i would like to see some in the centre of town too.

Me too. I was stunned at the difference just 3-4 miles on my commute between Ealing and Hammersmith. It's all very crisp and even here yet Hammersmith have hardly any! Amazing the difference the heat island makes between the centre of town and even the inner suburbs like Ealing.

The showers off the Suffolk coast look like they are about to form into a small band, just intime to hit Ipswich/Suffolk/Essex
