Blimey, that's three St Ivians on here now

Hello from the most snowless place in the UK
LOL! Hello!. Well, we 'do' have about 1cm on the ground here, where it hasn't been blown around that is :nonono:

Streamer has probably been one of the most overused words on this thread in the same way supercells are used in summer. laugh.gif

However in this case your right. At the moment the main action is likely to be Norfolk, Cambs for today and im also following that band moving S in the N Sea.

I will add though in the SE the NAE is suggesting a Thames streamer for tomorrow. This looks likely to be a genuine streamer!

Thanks for the info TEITS, you are our main man in these ere parts.

Will this be similar to the Feb 09 one TEITS and hit Central London and West London too?

Please say yes! drinks.gif

Impossible to say im afraid.

Saturday night looks interesting based on the latest NAE.

Seems enhanced snowfall through the Thames into Sussex.

well we have some light snow here in Shoebury falling. I wasn't expecting any more here today so a lovely surprise :nonono:

Hi Eve, there's a wall off snow hitting our area now. I would be surprised if it doesn't give us a decent dump.

Someone earlier mentioned they didn't have access to radar?

This about the best free one, & zoomable too.

Its pretty much 2 streams running from NE down to WSW, been flirting with the coast of Eastbourne for hours now, stopped currently. Not sure if it will make it over to you, ive got my fingers crossed for us both! Below is the last 5 min radar so you can see how close it keeps it.

Thanks for that.

Wonderfully wintery day here.

Overcast and freezing, with plaenty of lying snow.

Good luck

Cheers

I'm at work in cambridge now and there is so much more snow here, hard to believe just being a few miles away.

Fingers crossed for today and the weekend, want to see Warners Park covered

In work in the city now in my office with no view of what's outside. (though I did see two foxes strutting up the snowbound tracks at Bethnal Green on my way in this morning...which was lovely to see)

Sound like another bout of wishing for streamers to come along wil be in vogue here today...or Daystreaming as I prefer to call it.

Good to hear that St Albans is getting some although that's too west for me. But the fact that something off the North sea reached that far must surely bode well for most of us?

Hi yes it looks good, although staying light here still. I'm right on the coast by East Beach so we often end up getting the very edge of snow situations here where those in Southend, Leigh etc get a better fall. Last night was a good example. NOT that I am complaining at all. Lovely to see no matter how much or little :nonono:

Hello from the most snowless place in the UK

You're right there! I went down to London to work yesterday and even Huntingdon had more than us at the train station. Practically every mile I travelled down the line the snow depth increased. There was more snow at KX Station than here.

If we get a blizzard we must all meet in the middle of Waveney Road for a snow dance yahoo.gif

When I drove into Cambridge from St. Ives on Wednesday, there was so much more snow from Girton Corner into Cambridge, than there was this far West.

Hopefully this weekend will be good for us :nonono:.

looks like some more lining up in the sea what do you think?

That little blob just N of Calais? Yep... if it follows the same pattern it'll intensify and head straight for us! :nonono:

Don't hold your breath too much... it's been cloudy in Dover all morning and not a flake has fallen since about 10pm last night.

Lovely. Getting heavier here now, adding to what is laying already. What a lovely surprise although I don't expect it to last long. Good luck to all those in Southend, Westcliff and Leigh :)

Reckon we should try anyway to encourage a Blizzard

Huntingdon always seems to get more as does Cambridge, wonder why though

Got the quay on a webcam, not much happening today though

Very strange weather forecast from BBC this morning which had the snow for the weekend mostly SW/Wales -Graphics were surely wrong as Sky are going for a more Easterly event and is backed up by most on Netweather. Next week is going to be a roller coaster as the models will try and break down the cold but dont be surprised if this is the default mode and the cold reloads . This is based purely on my experience of past cold winters. That cold block over Europe is going to take a lot of shifting and I still think there is even colder weather to come. Over the last four weeks on the Kent/Surrey North Downs - a max of 6.5c for one day only just after Christmas the other days have been not much above freezing. The snow depth is still about 7ins which has helped keep the max down. Below freezing for 4 days now according to my weather station.. :)
