Well excuse us for not being in a clearly defined area...

I will not bother you any more with my rubbish.

No-one wants to lose you from a thread, it is all about finding the right grouping. There is just too many finding NW now, word of mouth is really kicking in and media coverage of NW is picking up. We are talking about an incredible period of time, hence the needs for more threads. Although mostly a lurker for five or so years, I have seen enough to know even national threads can be very lonely at times

Stay with us here for the best commentators (too shy to name names:whistling:)

You might want to find where the posters i've seen recently from Hemel, Ealing and Luton are now posting for a better idea of what's happening

Milton Keynes is another area of confusion, when I lived there I was never sure were to look. Wendy Hurrell used to do the ITV forecast a few minutes after I got home from work from Norwich! Cable TV also gave me Thames regional news and the coppers had Thames Valley uniforms, never worked out where I was!

King's Lynn look like it's about to get a pasting (dam i uses to live 2 mile south of there :good: ).

EDIT: More west winch i think going by the NW radar.

Wow, that's impressive local knowledge and geography :good:

Hi All,

Is it me but there appears to be a slight change in the direction the showers are taking ie a touch more East in the wind direction. Was expecting shower near Wisbech to head my way....eventually... but now near P/boro. Never mind will have to watch the Swaffam one instead.

We get Look East here!

I am confused too, I don't consider MK to be EA, I guess we are sort of East Midlands, we are too central to be SE. I suppose this thread makes sense because our weather correlates when it is an Easterly or Northerly and we are therefore all looking to receive showers from the same area, over the wash and through EA.

I usually right mouse click on it and then 'save image as', save it to the harddrive and upload it afterwards

Yes, Suffolk belongs here (even Ipswich supporters  )

ESPECIALLY Ipswich supporters! :D

More showers approaching from the NE; wonder if they will die out again before they get here?

Can't believe all the snow they have had just 10 miles down the road in Felixstowe; they have had three times the amount we have. It's ironic; I worked in Felixstowe for 12 years and can only remember it snowing (and settling) on one occasion. Even that melted quickly. Now they have been absolutely pasted for 2-3 days and as I work elsewhere I wasn't there to see it!

Thanks smile.gif

I've been here long enough to have worked out the best commentators - which is why I'd like to stay here! My original point was that South Bucks (rather than Milton Keynes, for example) is really borderline but I feel more comfortable here. I'll probably post here and lurk on the other thread!

And now back to the weather...

I did really well out of the snow on Tue/Wed so am just being greedy now, but would reeeeeeallly like a top up tomorrow night whistling.gif

Edited to add that we are doing really well - page 14 already and not much snow to speak of at the moment LOL

Hey i Dunno about knowledge - lol, I lived in Tilney st Lawrence (about 4/5 miles from lynn) for 22 years then moved to Watlington (just next to west winch) for another 8 years, now im in Methwold (nr thetford) and am totally lost, PMSL.

Big snow shower was showing for here but has died to nothing as it got closer (about 60% of anything heading this way seems to be fading to nothing for some reason  ).

Again i'm stunned !! why have Wishbech and peterborough missed out..

We got our first snow from a wash streamer before XMas , we got the snow we have today from that front that came up from the south.

tonight ,we've had snow showers on and off coming from the wash, and yet you are missing them.cc_confused.gif

I work for Anglian Water which makes it worse! Can get up to Grimsby then.

When I got to Peterborough (their HO) everyone speaks in a mild Birmingham/E Midland accent especially around Thorpe Park (sorry TEITS).

I can sympathise, My electricity supplier is Southern Electric which provide power to the South West, no wonder i'm confused! To be honest I need to lurk on all threads because I work in Surrey, my family and other half live on the Essex Coast, My relatives live in Cheshire and I am in no-mans land!!! :)

The snow obviously doesnt like us for some reason. I said earlier there has not been a decent snow shower during day light hours. It all happens at night (where I am anyway)

Right i've had a look at the models and I have a rough idea of what will happen. Im sure everyone is familiar with the Met O radar and I shall use this as a guide for the intensity of the snowfall.

The fun and games begin during Saturday evening. Now intially for much of Saturday evening/sunday morning our precitation is going to be mainly light (blues on Met O radar). Now the reason the SE could see heavier snowfall is due to the ENE,ly flow enhancing the snowfall, although the NAE has backed off somewhat of heavy snow in the SE. Now during Sunday afternoon the wind veers to the E and what the models are suggesting is the heavier snow moves N. This again is due to the winds veering E,ly meaning the snowfall is enhanced due to the long fetch across the sea. Now the 18Z actually moves this snow as far N as N England but based on all the runs I have seen our region looks likely to see heavy snow. This heavy snow is likely to continue into Sunday night before we see this becoming lighter. Again the reason for this is due to the winds veering SE,ly so we lose the effects of the N sea.

Overall very difficult to predict snowfall amounts but this period does look likely to bring persistant snow. Now even if it falls at 1cm an hr the fact that we could see 24/36 hrs of snow makes large snowfall amounts possible. I do feel that snowfall amount could vary hugely across the region because whilst some are experiencing blue patches on the radar others could see spells of green. Im afraid its a case of radar watching.

I will finally add that the NAE/GFS indicate rather widespread light snow tomorrow contrary to the BBC forecasts.
