Go lampost go lampost go lampost!!

Am opening a new pack of hob nobs, and getting the tea on for the lampost.

Feed your lampost and it will deliver.

I still can not understand how so much snow can exist in one lampost lamp?

Perhaps its like a portal to some snow universe?

I nominate my lampost for lampost of the year (wales regional finals).

Hi i'm not far from you (killay) quite a nice covering now, do you think we will get a lot more tonight?

I'm in Dunvant, yes could get 2-3cm by the morning if showers keep pushing in.

Jackone, How long you think these showers will persist for?

Difficult to tell and I don't want to jinx it. :yahoo:

Looking at the radar, the snow streamer looks set to continue until at least 1am and it may very well continue well into the night.

Currently belting down with snow, and a real covering on all surfaces and more than a dusting already. Also it looks as is the snow streamer is now hitting us than being slightly too far west as per earlier.

These streamers are great if your in there path, the models were showing this for a few days.

Looking at the radar more is set to come through, with the streamer edging slightly further east by the looks of things.

A good few hours maybe if the streamer stays on course, hopefully a good inch or two.

A nice warm up for the weekend i hope , maybe we are being softened up for the mega freeze, that Andy insists will be here February 8th at 0700hrs just before i pop my daily porridge in the microwave.

This is the latest radar picture (2310) from the new improved NW Radar which is user zoom able which really helps, when you are tracking snow streamers like tonight. (and of course is worth buying)

Snowing here a little, got a little dusting, grass is crunchy because of it and the cars have a little too. Temperture -2.8c and rising slightly under cloud.

I was thinking it wasn't going to snow here as the moon has been bright all night. And even though it is still bright in the sky, there are flakes floating about. clap.gif

Seeing snow is such a lovely sight.

the weird thing is when we had our heavy snow shower earlier the moon was still visible because the cloud is so thin i suppose. Still have snow falling but you can see it thawing in places too the ground temps really need to cool.

Grr lol, i hope it travels south of the mountains so they stay intense.

the direction at the mo is north west to south east - probably the worst for cardiff - Sunday is looking possibly more promising for all of Wales - I only got a reasonable shower - nothing to really speak of mate - just enough to whiten things

Nice that'll do me.

The chart I posted on here is only one of many of a series of charts which when put together you can see the movement of low and high pressures etc. I just wanted to illustrate that that sort of cold (purple colouration) hasn't been seen near britain in a very long time

There's a huge high pressure also to the north of russia and so everything is moving east to west beneath it!

Thanks Andy appreciate your time

Juts to let you know you have become the local weather guru where I work as I post your thoughts fairly regularly in work - in fact I'd say you have become a local celebrity in Newport these past few weeks - when do you do signings ? :0)
