Anyone in S Wales got Thunder? A decent thunderstorm has just passed to my south of Swansea, heading towards Swansea Airport and Gower now. Saw some decent cloud to ground lightning and some very loud rumbles from it.

We had some thunder earlier, but after the rain passed through. Didn't see any lightning though.

Very heavy rain now here in Reading with Thunder.

Cant see any lightening yet so propose to go to the top of the office with a long metal rod to see if I can catch some ?.

Work next to a small ‘river’ a very large branch is floating by (Hit by lightening black in the middle ? )

Look at CV11 on the radar. Lines are strengthening in all sorts of directions, with the closest just to my east. Getting dark here now. I am recording view to the east but my vantage point isnt so great.

Unless the MOD Has secretly put a huge Desert between Reading and Kent there will NOT Be a Dry Thunderstorm - I suggest you read up on where these occur - We sometimes get Storms from Plume situations in the Summer that are very High Based (Meaning the Rain evaporates before it hits the ground) and they are full of Lightning. Please dont confuse this with an Arizona Thunderstorm which IS a DRY Thunderstorm Pmsl!

Paul, I beg to differ...you obviously havent been to Penkridge, Staffs....The locals speak of a specific type of dry storm that occurs all the time, no rain at all.....come to think about it, no lightning or thunder either...in fact, we're having one right now!....

One of my offices in reading are completely without power.

Im assuming the storms are playing havoc round there.

Looks like a big cell moving into chelt.

No lightning, But looking very angry from here. Plenty of rain.

 @ AJ

After I wrote that I did kind of think - Hmmm maybe we are now classed as a Desert in the UK With rainfall below most of the Middle East etc

Still nothing of note but some passing showers to the North of London - Reading doing well as is parts of East Anglia now - Hoping it can suatain until at least 10pm - My Camera is itching for some action

Edit: Oh and Pat owes me a thankyou - I told him a few hours ago he would get Thunder in Cheltenham around 5-6pm LOL
