looking at the direction and speed of movement the first showers/storms should be hitting the Sotuh coasts of Devon /

Dorset and probably Hampshire around that time!

Yep, I'm plumping for the same to start off, I still suspect I am to the East of the line and it might just get up to the IOW.

Really liking developments to the S/SW now exiting France and hading N/NE over the Channel *.

Lots of heat over the land here for them to feed on even if they do weaken to some extent as they cross the Channel,

and I wouldn't expect too much weakening because they're mid-high based :) which often leads to some spectacular

lightning.

The sun setting around 21.00 will mean some cooling of the cloud tops and that can also spark off even better activity,

looking at the direction and speed of movement the first showers/storms should be hitting the Sotuh coasts of Devon /

Dorset and probably Hampshire around that time!

* = wonder if something of an MCS could form?

Am down in Exeter at the moment, thinking Westbury might have a better chance though, don't know if we will be too far west today. But yes, liking the look of what's coming across the channel.

Erm what are you basing this on? - it's still the other side of the Channel currently (or do you have inside information!? :winky: )

The direction the current cells are taking will mean the se and london will miss out.

However more convection can still occur, although i think it is highly unlikely

Looking at all of that unless something develops more towards the Holland border then i think SE will miss it all.

We are not really due till saturday or late saturday :lazy:

Exactly what I'm talking about ...nobody is now casting

WE ARE!!!!!!, there is nothing near us yet to now cast. Now cast can simply be looking at the sat pics or radar, saturday is our best chance not today it's always been the case!

Now please stop with the messing about, trolling or negativity. Watch the sat and radar and hope that something forms over france as we have till sunday

After a dull but very calm morning it has got very sunny here, large cumulus clouds about and the breeze has picked up recently.

Anyone want to meet up on Portsdown Hill near Pompey later to see these storms come in..?

I will be on the downs somewhere so I might bump in to you but I will be avoiding the idiots that hang out up at Mick's.

Looks like the storms will be worst in NW England tomorrow afternoon, the North Sea kills any chances to the east of the Pennines in NE England.

People are not agressive they just get fed up when post are repeated over and over again. Even if there are no showers now it does not mean that there will not be storms later.

Ifyou are hoping with your posts to get someone to tell you what is going on then just pm one of the nore experienced forum members who are usually happy to help. That way you will not get told off on the feed

I hope that helps The radar is a very good tool to use in these setups if gives a good heads up on where the storms are.

Have fun

I sure hope so. The Met Office's local forecast for this region doesn't even mention "thunder" or "thundery", despite the fact that all surrounding region's forecasts do. I know, I am picking holes aren't I
