Anyone know if any of that rain in North Wales is electrically active and if its going to head towards Macclesfield. Not had anything since 28 June.

It's about as active as an arthritic ant.

I think he was thinking of the A66, that joins the A1 at Scotch Corner.

Aye I was, so there's plenty of thunder there then, hope those showers to the south make it up here in one piece!

Another day of radar watching and another day of nothing..

Where thunderstorms are concerned, I've been doing the same since 23rd September 2010. I share your pain.

Nice skyscape today admittedly and did see a (very) distant CG at around 5:55pm but apart from that...

N O T H I N G!!

It's enough to drive ya barmy!

Phil.

Finally the storms seem to be leaving my area (SE Nottingham). We had a few little storms shortly after 4 pm which included a lot of hail and gusty winds plus incredible looking cloud formations. These continued until the big one arrived shortly after 6 pm (typically coincided with me trying to get husbands dinner cooked!). Went directly overhead with some extremely bright lightning and intense claps of immediate thunder. Kids bravely watched storms together upstairs whilst I got on with the dinner.

Its raining here now, and has been doing so for the past 10 mins. No thunder or lighning though, yet the sky is very dark and threatening.

A video from work today showing some torrential rain, a waterfall off the old mill next door, a huge leak right by the warehouse electricity box thing and finally a member of my team getting over excited at the prospect of being on video! Hope this works lol! (best viewed in hd i think)

Well thats it i give up. Every day a storm is forecast with up to 51% probability the 49% of no storm wins. Think i will take up trainspotting at least i will have something that is guaranteed
