Alaska and Siberia have had a very good start indeed, well well up this year from the previous 2.

If you class an area the size of France only 'just'.

Just goes to show how hard it is for our little Island to see widespread snowfall. Siberia can see snowfall that covers an area the size of France in just one day, but it seems near on impossible for the entire UK to be covered with snowfall in that time frame.

Looking very good for this time of year, doing much better than we were doing this time last year and the year before! Lets hope we can keep this snow up!

Also looks like the ice will reach the Siberian coast again within the next week, so hopefully this should mean an area of snow in that area.

Very interesting that snow is already present pretty much anywhere east of the Urals.

Very very good start indeed, wonder how long it will take for it to start snowing over Northern Europe :p

And in glorious detail, we can tell that the majority of snow has fallen on the upland areas.

I've run the animation. Although I can see Ocean and in land Lakes and Bays change I can't see as much as 1 pixel change on the land itself. Is this just covering water only? In otherwords the land area is a template?
