A peppering of sharp showers approaching Cornwall this evening. They are still forecasting thundery showers for my area around 1am with possible hail. Hopefully they do crop up, but preferably when i'm not walking back from the pub :p

Not sure if this has been posted in here before, but for those that haven't seen this should be useful to us storm fans: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/beta/weather/observations/?tab=map The MetO are now giving free ATD lightning data on the observations section of their beta site! About time too. biggrin.png

Thanks to someone who posted this on a different thread somewhere in the forum where I saw this.

Those storms to the east look rather nice lol. Some heavy showers to my SW may clip me shortly.

Really torrential showers east of Redditch up to Solihull!

They are lining up all the way through the Midlands into Gwent too, so chances of downpours and possible flashes until at least midnight for the central Midlands.

Could you upload the latest radar output and point were the showers are heading if it's not to much hassle, I appreciate if it's to much.

I would say Lichfield is a little too far west of the line, with Warwickshire and Leicestershire looking targets shortly.

The NW radar would be an excellent purchase you know!

The line is east of Tamworth and just west of Coventry, the showers are tracking north east along the 850hpa wind flow. The ones further south west over Gloucestershire will pass east of Brum.

Devon may be in for some lightning later if that heavy rain stays together, perhaps this may effect southern areas overnight ,if it heads inland.

this would likely be elevated storms ...

Looks kind of promising for that rain heading along the south coast - some sferics being detected within that. Im not sure how far northwards it will reach but I think it will miss me even though im still forecasted thundery showers over the next few hours.

Been watching Meteox and there's some nice heavy-looking rain and a few lightning strikes off the south west coast - wondering what my chances are here of seeing any storm action? Kinda seems to be heading in the right direction... Mind you, I put money on it being a light drizzle if it even gets this far cray.gif

Meh, everything seems to be decaying gradually with the odd heavy pulse cropping up here and there. Can't see much else happening with those showers to the South as they drift E/NE. lazy.gif

Just a blustery few days to get through now!
