Have woken up from my estivation and am reporting for winter duty.

Snowing at dawn in Embra (Comely Bank), giving a covering. Now thawing, but still raw out there. Cold zonality: bring it on!

The temperature has been steadily falling through the morning, it's now 4.5c from a starting temp this morning of 6.6c.

Showers of rain and hail.

Have you had any snow in 2011?

Not in my location, I'm hoping that's about to change :good:

Looking good on the charts and the Meto are predicting snow showers overnight and tomorrow with a covering down to low levels in places.

Ah, good news that you should be ending your snow drought in 2011 soon in the month that does bring the goods.

I'm not going to hold my breath though, I live close to the coast and the Irish can be my worst enemy with W-NW'y winds off the rather mild SST's and it can modify a cold air mass greatly. Last year was perfect as the winds were coming from the E/NE which limited the modification to a minimum if not totally eradicating it completely. Plus the uppers were very cold which also helped last year.

Strange how the Beeb's weather forecast differs from the Met Office one!!!

Looking at passage of precipitation, looks like the next shower is due over me in the next 20-30 minutes.

Can't wait for later, will be lamp-post watching once darkness falls!!!

More likely I'd end up with batman at my front door. Could be awkward explaining my way out of that one.

What's notable about the showers is that they are not even blinking at the hills for a change. A huge shower has just passed to the south of here but the next couple are going to score a direct hit here :)

Jeez! just walked into the conservatory and ran out again. It's freezing in there! Have to supplement with the fan heater today I think. (Hubby will be pleased!)......Not.

I think Ben Alder is the main obstacle to snow showers making it to Fife. Odd, they seem to make it over Ben Nevis/Carn Mor Dearg etc. without too much bother but struggle further east.

I feel the same. Heating is on full and I still feel a bit chilly. Jumpers and wooly socks on I think.

Not had any snow since 9am. The showers keep missing us. I think the next one might be a hit though seems to be a big one heading down now. :search:

My kids are rolling about less than half dressed complaining at the heat while me and Mrs Catch are cold...that's a sure sign of getting old.

Parts of Scotland are going to get a pasting:
