Approx 14:30 sleet at around 350m - Wormhill, Peak District Derbyshire, simillar time at Doveholes its was snow but no lying. Rushup Edge and Eldon hill - 400m and above had lying snow on the grass, road's had clear slush so snow must have just started sticking on them.

I'm clutching at straws really mate, but you never know they often update a forecast at last minute (or 4 hours) before a shower arrives

Don't think there's a better substitute than watching the radar :)

All it would take is a nice little streamer coinciding with the colder air and boom!! you could end up with 5cm easily. I've had it many times when there's not many showers forecast then you just get a thin line of em feeding through. In my case a small gap in the pennines.

Even if it does cross the Pennines it'll only hit Leeds/York.

1.9/0.0 here alza- great to see you posting again; hopefully the wind direction will be east next time we're on about cold spells but I'm quite content with the beautiful lake district and pennines getting hammered... But please may some showers sneak past the pennines!

Can only be a fantastic sign for us further south. The uppers are really getting to work in your area, and hopefully it won't be long it's the same here.

Dropped to 5.2C here :)

I've never heard of a Tyne Streamer mentioned, but i'd love to be corrected!
