Sleet here at the moment, at just over a 1000ft with intermittent convective snow showers. But nothing settling as yet.

At only T24 i'd say they are pretty accurate!

If they are im in for a good covering ! Although i cant see it sadly Im just hoping for the best a nice little covering will do me even a dusting if things get desperate :p

I know the FAX chart had a trough moving through NE England tomorrow morning - that's the only explanation. Even if a trough does move through I suspect the Pennines / Cheviots will suck the energy from the showers.

How would that be excellent and for who?

From the chart it would be excellent for Northeast England and Northwest Scotland in particular in terms of snow

That chart shows heavy precipitation over NE England. Personally I don't see that happening!

Temp hovering around 5c here with a dewpoint of 2.5c. It's going to be very marginal here. Too low lying and close to the Irish sea. You never know though might see a dusting. Seems to be plenty of showers heading our way anyway.

Met office are now forecasting a light snow shower at 9pm tonight in newcastle! Also light snow at 3am tomorrow morning

http://www.metoffice...st_weather.html

I wouldn't take any notice of that, they are wrong more often than not.

Large area of ppn heading right for me! But the temp has risen to 3.7c, I expect it will drop again during any showers.

According to Netw extra the T850 is around -5.4c over my location.

I'm clutching at straws really mate, but you never know they often update a forecast at last minute (or 4 hours) before a shower arrives
