Uhh well this sucks for Leicester as usual. On the plus side where i'm going skiing has 100cm of fresh snow over the past day. Pretty similar too the amounts we got here really :)

A few sleety/wet snow showers here today, nothing even slightly substantial! Should have stayed in Brownhills, even though it's exactly the same there! lol

And the radar is certainly struggling, says we should have something falling from the sky - but all I see is blue!

hello everyone...We've had sleet & snow flurries off and on all morning, and now shortwave is enhancing ppn to the north & west, so a reasonable chance of most parts seeing something wintry sometime this afternoon....Here's the latest radar to illustrate where the ppn is, and it's worth baring in mind that the showers are sinking southwards whilst training SE along the shortwave.. :)

Ahh, fingers crossed. Hoping that will deliver something snowy. :) Although I was happy to see some wet snow last night (better than nothing anyway), just kinda shame there was not much heavy precipitation around as it may have helped it to settle.

Just been into town, roads are a no-go here with 2-3 inches of snow lying nd about 1.5 inches even on the road. It's completely gridlocked, witnessed cars skidding and 2 shunts as a result.

Incredibley jealous. Unlike most drivers I find snow particularly fun to drive in, as long as i'm not in town or on the motorway.

oh dear, it's raining here as the lighter precip from the shortwave edged in, hopefully as it turns heavier over the next few minutes it will turn to snow

Let's get plenty of photos folks! I probably won't see any snow for myself but at least the NW Midlands is finally getting the best of an event for once.

Birmingham looks to be in a great position for this afternoon from that streamer, Leicester and Nottingham = Bad position. I've seen this happen way too many times before, Cheshire gap streamer plowing through Staffs and Birmingham and missing us.

2 hours later... and it's happening

Love watching that streamer just drift past Leicester as it always does.

Why on earth are all the showers dying out literally 10 miles from my area!!!!!!!!

Sadly this happens frequently with Cheshire Gap streamers. They sometimes don't have the oomph to make it to south Staffordshire and beyond.

Edit: Just started raining here. Too warm at the moment.
