Precip intensity easing off a touch, have a slight covering on cars, paths and garden wall. Grass is getting there. Does seem rather wet though.

Light to moderate snow for a while now, temp had risen to +0.6 but has slowly fallen back to -0.7 now, dp -3.

TWS,we always k new that it would be a fairly marginal event and from now it is both nowcasting and hopecasting,in the meantime still snowing lightly with the temperature at 0.7c.

If you are east coast, don't hold your hopes up. I can only recall an atlantic front delivering decent snow a few times in my lifetime and I don't see anything special about this one.

To be fair if warm air meets freezing air it can turn to snow. There is a risk of this today which is what we are experiencing and the meto have increased their alert. No-one is expecting meters of snow but just the very fact its snowing is fine by me

Edit: Becoming heavier again , wind picking up again.

I'd hazard to think that the further east, the more mixing and therefore higher chance of snowfall, it would be great if the CF meeted the WF in the NE nr derwentside.
