Also to add to the 12z the NMM has the whole thing as snow bar maybe the VERY back edge, thats much better than I was expecting actually.

Shows a snowfall rate of about 8cms in 3hrs for areas north of London which probably is a little heavier then what has been generally suggested.

Also slightly slower, which is SO KEY for enhancing the chances of it staying as snow.

MUCH better 12's as expected for the frontal ground-

NAE looked excellent at 24 & 30-

GFS good

UKMO excellent- surface temp of 0c for ALL of sunday MAXIMA in the SE Corner & only 1c for the home counties-

WIB- its all snow mate & ITS COMING TOMORROW- The SKEWt's are great

What's your view for Surrey and Hants Steve for tomorrow evening/Sunday?

Do any of the models factor in things like evaporative cooling at any stage in their runs i.e the high res end??

Could be 15cms then as we are meant to get a least 6hrs of snowfall

WIB may have had a point if it wasn`t for the solid cold block and the weaker Atlantic.

The fronts are not forecasted to make the usual straightforward eastward progression as it hits the cold air over us.

This little develpment will stall everything and keep the Centre and East cold with the rain turning to snow.

A touch of frost... Scandinavia at 6am tomorrow morning.

Little bit nippy. :cold:

From past events its very likely that as this front moves east its going to really really struggle to makes progress as it hits the frigid air across the spine of the country. No model is going to pick this up until within 6 hours! I'd expect the forecasts to start reflecting this within the next few hours! Could well be that north-west London ends up as the sweet spot.

That would kill people here as the national grid and gas supplies would surely fail with everyones heating on full tack.

Looks like the latest forecast is already picking this up! Snow looks more extensive right down to the coast or near.

I'm surprised they don't think it will be snow south of london...

Looks to me like there's no precips there at all, remember they are crappy BBC graphics, but fun all the same!

Indeed not... Driving back from Suffolk to Reigate today, the motorway warning signs suggested a 'severe weather event on Saturday...' I'm expecting tornadoes...

The amount of times I've seen them signs, 4 inches of snow just isn't severe in my eyes.
